"This week, the stakes of Supergirl Season 3..." -- You mean "Season 4", right? I hope that's just a simple typo and I didn't go crazy (or back in time).

The art by Pacheco is simply beautiful. I've always liked his works, but wow, he got EVEN better in recent years! So nice heads-up article; I may try this title.

With that said, this "soft" retcon or "new" origin story or whatever the heck you wanna call it, if it's indeed true AND permanent (for now, they can STILL take it back ya know), hmm, I don't know. I mean, I can't say I totally hate it, but I can't say I like it either. For me and my friends, it's akin to saying, "Peter Parker didn't actually get his powers from a radioactive spider; his dad made mad bestial love with a giant spider. Aunt May & Uncle Ben raised Peter as their own, coz his mom ate his dad--which is what female spiders do to their smaller mates IRL--and then died a few days later after giving birth to baby Pete--which is also partly true according to RL." SMH. LAWL. No, Mar-Vell--I mean, Marvel--it doesn't really make Carol's origin story "more realistic". It's just uninspired. Not to mention smells rip-off-ish, as the others here have pointed out. And it feels gimmicky as a forced "tie-in" to the movies. But worst of all, at least for us, it is UTTERLY unnecessary! Ms. Marvel (yes,I grew up with that,so I still see her as that) was never broken to begin with. We loved her! So why are you CONSTANTLY trying to "fix" her? Jeez.

BTW, I almost forgot to ask, why does it feel like you're trying to retcon the original Captain Marvel out of existence? (yes,Marvel's Mar-Vell,not DC's even-older now-called-Shazam hero)? The original stories, with him saving a dying Carol after the accident and then forming a life-long bond with her, until he eventually passed his name & legacy on to Carol, are some of the most moving moments of Carol's history, which people loved, including us. Why get rid of that?? Sigh.

Hmm, if that ain't Miss--I mean, Captain--Marvel, then IDK... the Silver Surfer? Warlock? Odin coming back? Other Cosmic gods or beings? The Phoenix entity even? Since Disney's eating up Fox now, it could be a "Surprise, motherf*cker!!" moment for Jean & the rest of the Fox CU, LOL. Hmm, I'll have to get back to you on this.

Hmm, just a question: That part where Venom joined the Thunderbolts, from what title was that? Secret Avengers? If so, which series/volume specifically? I only know 3 of them. 2010, 2013 and 2014. Thank you.

My thanks as well for the timely correction; I didn't want other readers to misunderstand her history. And the pleasure's all mine, sir. :)

"...an origin story featuring a "teen superheroine," a storyline that is unlikely to have a place for an adult Superman..." -- Even in your previous article, you said the very same thing. Your statements imply that a story with an "adult Superman" (by Cavill or not) AND a teen Supergirl either has never happened before OR simply cannot work. Umm, with all due respect, sir, but why the heck not?? I've been following Kara's stories (in ALL her incarnations) since I was in diapers, so it's more than fair to say that I know a little something about her. And many--if not most--of those stories feature a teen Supergirl AND an adult Superman. The 1996 Superman and 2001 Justice League animated series by Bruce Timm and her 2005 "re-introduction" into the DC Universe books by Jeph Loeb/Ian Churchill/Michael Turner AND the 2011 reboot of the entire DC franchise all depicted her as a teen WITH an adult Superman. Even though she was technically born before Kal, because of the effects of prolonged space travel, suspended animation, time anomalies and various other reasons, she's almost always featured as being much younger than Clark when she finally arrives on Earth. So yes, why the heck is her storyline "unlikely to have a place for an adult Superman"? If anything, not only is it absolutely normal and faithful, but it'd actually be quite weird otherwise.

"...Right now, there's a marquis sign that reads..." -- Minor correction: Since you obviously meant the signage structure with light bulbs and stuff, it's spelled as "marquee". "Marquis" is a noble title; as in Marquis de Sade. Anyway, no big deal, just a friendly neighborhood FYI for ya.
