Probably quite close between Alexi Laiho (Children of Bodom) and Oli Herbert (All That Remains), but i'm really starting to like what i hear from Matt Heafy from Trivium.

I also suggest listening to the twin capabilities of bands like Protest the Hero and The Human Abstract. very technical stuff

i would hope you pick Alexi by far! prog metalcore(protest the hero)... thats an offense to my ears!

An offense to your ears?!?! Broaden your horizons my friend! My guitar playing has easily become so much better because i stopped confining myself to one genre

anything with core in it's name is an offence. my guitar playing has become much better from attending a conservatorium of music, where i have to broaden my horizons and from technal prog like Dream Theater, Kiko Loureiro etc.

word? i just don't see the need to bash metal styles.

I had been following this one for quite awhile and took it off my gamefly list back in mid october because i needed to make room for fable II. guess that was a good decision :(
