Probably quite close between Alexi Laiho (Children of Bodom) and Oli Herbert (All That Remains), but i'm really starting to like what i hear from Matt Heafy from Trivium.
I also suggest listening to the twin capabilities of bands like Protest the Hero and The Human Abstract. very technical stuff

anything with core in it's name is an offence. my guitar playing has become much better from attending a conservatorium of music, where i have to broaden my horizons and from technal prog like Dream Theater, Kiko Loureiro etc.

I had been following this one for quite awhile and took it off my gamefly list back in mid october because i needed to make room for fable II. guess that was a good decision :(
