@wwlettsome well they started on the MMO almost 6 yrs ago, and it just happened that Reckoning came out first. This was supposed to come out in Sept, but it's pushed back.

@rhymesmatter well they haven't announced anything specifically about the MMO mechanics publicly, but in Reckoning which is what this is based off of they greatly improved the animations and combat for RPGS, you can customize the game to your play style on the fly and you don't have to reroll your hero and start over if you screw up. You can visit a fate weaver and reset yourself and continue where you left off. You can wield any weapon combo in both hands regardless of class, and you can be anything you want from greatsword wielding magic user, or heavy armor wearing rogue, or a jack of all trades who is a weapons master. The mmo won't be exactly like the SPRPG, but I know somethings they've greatly improved upon from other games out there, but it's still hush hush, can't give out the secret sauce. I don't remember if I commented in your post or not, but this video is really old and they are fully playing it internally right now. It's not finished, but it's much further than this.

@rhymesmatter actually the last Madden I played and own is madden 2002. I don't care about a different paint job so my new toon looks like someone new, because It's basically the exact game I've been playing for 20 yrs and I'm beyond tired. it's just a sticker over the same game. Sure there's some tweaks here and there, but really it doesn't bring anything new game play. I used to love Mario, butt holy crap Nintendo, he's freaking like 25 yrs old by now and they're still making this silly game about a plumber who finds magic suits that change his appearance to collect coins and find a princess he'll never get. For some stupid reason they fall in love for 12 seconds until the game is over until next time. At least for a lil while they explored different games with Mario, but it's just rereleased same game on every new console that comes out for them. As far as RPG's holy crap how many remakes of those do you want? We're on like our 16 or 18th Final Fantasy game now (including the Japanese ones not in US), I lost count with Dragon Warrior series after 9, but it's probably like 12 or 13 now, Wizardry I played for the first time when it was Wizardry 8, but there's probably 20 or more of those games. ES 5, I could keep going... I'm just saying I welcome a new IP, it's not so much its the same genre, it's a new brand, a new story, new heros, new game play mechanics, etc that hasn't been the same game I've already played for 10-20 yrs. I applaud them for making a SRPG and their MMO because 1st, this started 6 yrs ago and is only now about to come out, and they hired the best people in the industry at what they do to work on it. It's also for 2 different audiences since they've already released their first SPRPG with Reckoning, that adds broader market appeal, and different styles of games that they will make. The MMO won't be the same as Reckoning because they wanted Reckoning to be it's own contained experience but shared within the same world. You're probably half right about creating mainstream MMO's based on genre's, although China and the Asian market have been realeasing RPG MMO's for about 12-15 yrs I'm aware of, and we're just now seeing those catch up here in America. Oh by the way, they are Rereleasing Balders Gate this Summer, except its a remake of the original using the same engine with some tweaks. It won't be a MMO, (yet)

@Blanny123 that's because you're looking at an internal version of the game meant for the employees working on it before they added any tech. This video is months and months old.

@mrboone01 actually friend, you're missing half the story. Don't believe the internet... There's a lot of bad press out there just because they hate Curt Schilling and no ones talking so they're making crap up. 38 Studios has hired the Sr people from practically every successful MMO for the past decade to work on this game. If it fails, then the internet may be at fault because everyone on staff has launched successful tripple A titles, or they are above average at what they do. Think Naughty Dog but for MMOs.

@rhymesmatter wow, it's gonna be so awesome when they release madden 23 next year and call ur daddy 6: pick me up comes out.... Really there's not near as many MMO's as there are remakes of the same dang game. At least it's a new IP with a really talented staff of bad asses. By the way, this footage is old. Like mega old, a lot of those were starting zones and we've counted like 58 zones at least on another map.

@RavenXavier if you watch any interview with Todd about the game, he will tell you these are not Todd Mcfarlane's games, this isn't his style or gig, he just wanted to convey the strong poses and make the animations dynamite, etc to stand out. He wasn't designing creatures or story, etc. That's for another game down the road another time.

From Curt Schillings Facebook page, Curt Schilling: To anyone posting here, despite the ENORMOUS amount of misinformation and the amount of time it would take to make you understand the truth, know this. At no time, AT ANY TIME during this process, did 38 Studios EVER ask the State of Rhode Island for a bailout, financial aid, nothing.
