I'm very much a retro oriented gamer but this past decade has been a perfectly good one for gaming if not a better one factually (online play, advances in graphics and other areas of tech such as ai and audio etc) however I used to play alot more and enjoy gaming more in the 90s when I was a kid.

The most consistently expensive games/platform-Neo Geo AES very few games under 100 bucks I just started getting into this system (love neo games) and have already spent a ton of money. 2 games were 200 each!
Saturn has alot of expensive games as well and then you have the stuff mentioned here like the world champ cart from nintendo (of which a repro is available for 50 bucks haha)
yeah I'd say two-three more years before a new one comes out otherwise maybe one more revision of the current model (and more styles/colors) I think the best thing for them to do would be to work on battery life and add better graphics and sound and try to keep everything else as nice as it is now. Biggest thing though as it is now is more games I'm bored with mine!
I started out running my 360 on a 27inch sony tube tv through component (very nice picture but kinda small) then I hooked up to a 53 inch non HD set through component (yay!) and now I have upgraded to a 57inch HD set and am fully experiencing my 360 finally, very happy now. If only I could use my old mans 60inch 1080p tv for my 360 (and buy a ps3 for it) I believe eventually we will 1080p is even better its amazing
I only still use small tvs for my old school games
