I guess this really belongs in System Wars but I can't post there. Doesn't matter. I saw it for $109.00 at Wal-Mart yesterday! That's very cheap. This reminds me of the Dreamcast - which dropped to $150, then $100, then $75.00, and then $50.00, before Sega shut-down. Wii U though - those sales are not doing so great either. Wii U was outsold 2:1 by Playstation 3 last week. Thus I predict that both Wii and Wii U will go the way of Dreamcast.

More information - Wii's market share decline by almost exactly 10% (10.2%) from 2011 to 2012. Who picked up the slack? Microsoft's increased by 2% - Sony's increased by 8%. Thus - it is a true supposition, that Sony is taking over Nintendo's territory in the console market. http://www.vgchartz.com/article/250601/2012-year-on-year-sales-and-market-share-update-to-december-1st/

At this rate they certainly will. Just as I predicted - being demolished by the Playstation 4. Xbox3 is soon to follow. It's not even out yet and Wii and Wii U are being demolished by it. Check out these sales figures: Sales of Wii by year (through December 1) 2009 - 15 million 2010 - 12.5 million (dropped by 16%) 2011 - 8.8 million (dropped by 29.6%) 2012 - 4 million (dropped by 50%) Wii U only add .78 million to the 2012 total. What about 2013? I expect to see it slump to 1 million, at that rate. 2 consecutive years of 4 million unit declines. When will Nintendo get the picture? It's selling hardware with G3, 1998 PowerMac-based CPUs, and 2001-era GPU technology, with Wii. The average consumer has a 1080p display now, and a 3.0+ ghz Intel Core processor. Of course they're going to be demolished by the Playstation 4. You fans of Nintendo may be disappointed, but it is inevitable. Wii and Wii U are occupying a territory that is effortlessly being swallowed up by the corporate giant that is Sony Corporation.

It seems the basic common business sense relating to current and next-gen consoles is as follows. 1. We need light-weight processors, with little heat distribution, and small size, to fit in the console. 2. We need the CPU to be cheap, to fit in a $300 console 3. We need it to have lots of SIMD GFLOPS, since that's what modern games run on. 4. Forget PC functions - consumers don't want to buy a PC in the living room 5. In-order processing allows us to remove 1/3 of the chip's transistors, and make it even more concentrated on GFLOPS. Out-of-order is useful only for PCs. It's a common business senses that decided the contents of the Playstation 3 and Xbox 2. I just found this interesting. The Playstation 4 will depart massively from this business sense. It'll be expensive, probably $400, it'll use serious heat, it'll not focus on SIMD gflops performance, and it'll have an out-of-order design.

Personnally, I don't think they'll be pushing that option even if interesting. If I understand well, this is about supporting 4 display, then 4 tv?

If I take for example my room, I can't see anyway where I can fit 4 tv side by side...Then, they'll have to be in different room...

Then...4 HDMI output($$$$)? Or wireless? How to link wireless, an adapter on the tv?

RFmyrddin
Yes - 4 displays. 2-4 displays. They'll have to be an add-on to support 4 HDMI displays. Wireless - there's too much bandwidth for wireless. Imagine 2-4 of those. It would be possible to hook up to 50" HDTVs right next to each other, and play them both on a single Playstation 4. As a matter of fact, I expect a tech demo displaying this very feature. You need a large room.

Ditto. Now have a nice, steaming cup of STFU.

[QUOTE="Jonathan512"]"Go back to system wars..." This isn't exactly a system war topic. Playstation 3 overtakes Xbox360 in total sales. Once again - 2 people don't constitute a majority. Kravyn81
Dur dur duuurrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr! "Cross-platform discussions belong in System Wars." CROSS-PLATFORM DISCUSSIONS. And since you're directly comparing PS3 to 360 sales that constitutes CROSS-PLATFORM DISCUSSION. Buh bye!

This sounds to me more like System Wars topic, I'm glad to hear PS3 is selling well but in all honestly I care about the games, not units sold. That worry is up for the executives to think about.

Actually it's up to anyone to think about, who is interested.
