I love the first film, I'd love to see another one, a lot of great chemistry with the cool characters, I hope it's as well done as that one and not forced.
I really hope they do it right, the makers should have a good long chat with John Carpenter and James Cameron, about The Thing and The Terminator mainly, John Carpenter for how the symbiote functions and James Cameron for the tone with Terminator, a bit more of a creepy horror feel than action.
Would be great if they could have a lot of practical gooey effects in the film too, ask Rob Bottin to do it =)
Metaphysics, I love topics and stuff like, so many films and games have gone into that like i, robot, that's my favourite, makes you think what defines a person, their brains, essence of character and the soul, lovely. And it's great they're taking more time with the writing but that show's got such an amazing cast, they should let them improvise more with their characters.
This is inevitable for all game shops sadly, everything's digital now, I'm stuck in my old ways with games, films and music, I prefer physical things, especially when the games have tidy booklets inside them, another rare lovely thing. And then comes automation of more generic things like factory work everywhere, the digital machine age for you.
With all the chatter about new Marvel games and how wicked the new Spider Man game looks, I'd love it if they did an 18 / R rated The Punisher game, I really like the one from the ps2 days, just have Thomas Jane doing the voice again, would be so cool =)
Looks generic and pointless as f**k. And some people bitched and moaned when Manhunt came out because they said it was like a killing simulator, Manhunt actually had wicked music and one hell of an atmosphere, this just looks like another shitty cash grab riding on a name.
I suppose it's not all bad though, if this doesn't get banned, maybe Rockstar will go ahead and make another Manhunt that's as good as the first one.
As always, trying to appeal to as broad an audience as possible and with a shitty pg 13 rating stuck on it, another poor cash cow. "Instead of making it a retelling of any game in the series, it will be an action movie that people can enjoy even if they don't know the games." That could go either way, could be great if they stay very true to the main source material and feel of the earlier games or it could end up like the later Resident Evil films, 2 dimensional popcorn cheesiness riding on a name =P
Yeah and... call of duty made about a billion dollars or something, Elder Scrolls has probably made about a tenth of that, I know which one I'd rather have any day =P
