I believe you can edit one of the .cfg files in your profile folder to force the registration I had the same issue you have with my old graphics card.

Cant remeber the file to edit off the top of my head try searching for "force 1650x1050 mass effect"

If he was getting Graphics corruption or game crashes then yeh maybe graphics card.

But he is disconnecting, most likely suspects are bad connection, blocked ports by firewall or router or even steam or left 4 dead being blocked in ur applications list.

Try connecting to a server under 100 ping, to bring up console enable it in options press the "`" key and type "openserverbrowser" you can enable filters and try connecting to low pop low ping dedicated server.

I'm so buying that when it is released in 50 years time :P

Ive never read a review that stated Left 4 Dead was meant for single player and im sure every valve game ive bought on DVD mentions it has Internet Connection Required on the back of the box.

If you have friends then Left 4 Dead ;)

If not then Bioshock although its not very challenging due to the respawn system but great story and atmoshpere.

I got bored of guild wars very quickly despite the fact there are no monthly charges.

Its heavily instanced and to progress you need to get some really good PvE groups to get any where, then you can go crazy PvP with the tournies etc but i didnt get that far.

As for WAR its pretty much the same game style as WoW in terms of level design and size and some of the UI, so it should be easy to just jump in as a new player and learn the ropes.

You can also play tha game only PvE and Only PvP if you wished so there is a lot more freedom in how you choose to progress, however the end game is broken at the moment with server crashes, and due to the nature of it being a team based RvR game you never feel that you character is very powerful on its own.

Give WAR 6 months and I recon it could be the ultimate PvP game.
