Why do we need to "smooth the transition"? People have voted loud and clear they don't want digital drm consoles. It would have been business suicide for Microsoft to carry through with their digital "come to the future with me" console. Just because you may hear "oh digital games are the future" doesn't mean it's going to happen. It's their wishful thinking. Almost like they are trying to brainwash people into giving up consumer rights for digital games.

Yeah not likely going to happen. The amount of people who buy their games digitally on consoles is very small. I'm talking really small. A lot of people don't even know it's a thing. Lowering prices on PSN or XBL to compete with physical retailers, or releasing digital a month early or whatever, would encourage digital sales, but I am sure Amazon/Wal-Mart/Game Stop wouldn't allow this. Seeing as how these mega retailers sell way way way more copies, prices on PSN/XBL will have to remain the same as their physical counter parts.

Well thanks to sony fanboys we can't share games with friends. That would of been a "next-gen" feature in my eise.

Can't tell if you are trolling... Sony "fanboys" weren't likely the problem. If anything, the Xbox 360 fans didn't like what they saw with the Xbox 1 and decided not to pre-order it. And now you can share games with your friends. You just give them the disc. So much easier imo. The Microsoft Family plan sounded like an interesting idea until the nitty gritty details started to emerge, such as the 15-45 minute demo thing.

[QUOTE="JPala84"][QUOTE="robybaggio"] We have jobs, we like the convenience of all digital. robybaggio

I currently have two jobs and work 12 hours a day. I still manage to take 15 minutes out of my life here and there to head to the local video game store/wal-mart/gamestop/where ever to buy my games. It is also nice knowing that if I do ever fall on hard times, I am able to liquidate some of my games to pay the mortgage/bills. However I will concede that people love convenience, hence the fast food places dotting every street corner.

Do you live in a cardboard box with your internet hooked up to a tree?

I live in a house with an average internet connection. I'm just not a lazy ass who finds it too challenging to go to Game Stop.

Wasn't there just a thread on here, or maybe I saw it on GAF, comparing the prices of games on Steam/Origin vs. the same games on XBL, and the XBL games were like four times the price?

I was looking forward to being able to install from a disk and then never needing it again. I guess I will just go all digital downloads instead.

Why? Serious question. Are you too lazy to drive to the video game store and buy the game? The physical is the same price as the digital. The physical allows you to re-sell/gift/lend to whoever you want. You actually get to own the physical version, it is your property, to do with as you wish. Why in the world would you want to go entirely digital when the benefits are so infinitesimally small, that it boggles my mind just thinking about this.

OP is the kinda guy who, even as he is being bent over, will defend MS to the bitter end.
