@bezza2011 They didn't even show gameplay though. Those clips were cutscenes which were pre-rendered in-engine. Gameplay was a lot uglier than cutscenes in the PS3 version. They lowered resolution and details during gameplay. Now if the gameplay of the PS4 version looks like the pre-rendered cutscenes seen in the PS4 trailer, then it will be a major difference.

@Scarlesspider 3D fighters are usually very similar between entries and characters have less differences. They have more moves but when it comes to actual useful tools, most characters are pretty much equal in that regard. It takes more time to develop something good. And 3D sequels tend to add to the game whereas a lot of Capcom sequels have a completely new foundation.

@rasputin177 Your missing a key point. Videogames are a business. The developers don't make the decisions and they're the ones whose jobs are on the line. A developer is a salaried position. They don't make more or less depending on their success of the game. Their success just adds a little job security. A company will only keep developers around that they need. If they think your studio isn't making enough profits, you may lose your job. And artists do care a lot about money. That's what allows them to pursue what they really want to do. No one is going to give a director millions of dollars unless they show that they can make a movie that will make that money back as well as a lot more beyond that. Money is the symbol of success. That success means you'll get more opportunities to push your art further. The same goes for videogames.
