Carbon. Now if you ask me, the NFS series has lost all steam with Hot Pursuit 2.

Most Wanted - in theory, this game comes closer to the "old" NFS than any other, however, I found it extremely disappointing. The cop chases are ridicolous, forced. The lenght, and the fact that you can knock down police cars like flies is... well... frustrating. Zero immerse.

Carbon however, I found fun. Has the same selection of cars, however, you are NOT forced to do police chases, you can just focus on the racing. And unlike UG2, the game ends before you get bored.

but in CS, all you have to put in consideration is your oppenents, and their skills. if you can beat them, you win. However in L4d the game itself works against you if you dont work together... and it has many ways of bringing you down.

Sometimes I read about people praising the teamwork aspect of this game and hailing it as a great accomplishment in team-based gameplay, and it really gets to me. It's greatly overexaggerated - sure you need teamwork, but nothing more than you'd need in any team-based game, be it FPS or otherwise. Please stop praising it as if it's the first game in history to require teamwork.F1_2004

i disagree. If you do not work CLOSELY together, you're screwed. Sure, every game needs teamwork, but if this was TF2 style, you could run off and rush the zombies yourself. Or stay behind and collect all the crap... but in L4D, if you do these, you're dead(on a higher difficulty than normal or in versus).

easy choice actually.

What do you prefer? Online or offline? If you prefer online, get L4D. The singleplayer portion of that game is non existant, but online, it's pure awesome fun. If you prefer games with a deep storyline and regular, proper singleplayer campaign, get Mass Effect.

[QUOTE="kozzy1234"]^^^ Its so much more then a Halflife2 mod man.... have you even played the full version?Hellboard
duh? if counter strike is a hl mod so does left for dead.. you can see the similarities.. but if you check games form unrela engine 3.... they all look so different!

I don't really see Gears of War and Unreal Tournament that different. Both game have very similiar graphic style, physics, and feel.

There's no way L4D is a HL2 mod just because some of the sound files and the basic graphics are similiar...

In my opinion the main source of criticism comes from people who look at this game as a single player game with online capabilities. It's actually the other way around... in fact, ive not spent more than 5 minutes playing in singleplayer I think(and that combined with the demo). I've played the demo for about 28 hours, the full game about 60 hours so far, and I'm far from bored.

Versus mode is fantastic. And I so far only really played it on No Mercy(i love that campaign) ... and guess what, I'm far from bored.

Given it's designed for online, I wouldn't be surprised at the lack of plot, complex gameplay elements and more campaigns. I mean, you do play the same maps over and over again in TF2 and CS. And im sure Valve will add new campaigns soon enough.

One thing though. The people. Given that this is a COOP game, I think the importance of at least one friend to play with is really big. Without friends, it's almost like playing singleplayer. Though a good, communicative team can be fun too.

well I'm playing on an OC'd HD 3870, on "enthusiast" level (very high) and getting a steady 30 FPS on 1280x1024 with 2x AAmonty_4256

not even a 4850 can pull that off, or even a 4870, so duh. I get 25-30fps with all at gamer, 1680x1050, 0AA with Q6600@3.2g,3GB RAM and HD 4850.
