So on Thursday (1-8-1009) I got the Radeon 4670, installed it and downloaded the drivers. I'm glad to say everything is working perfectly without any problems.

Yeah, I have been hearing mixed opinions about the 4670 some say I can without a power supply some say I cant. I think id rather be safe just in case so I'm most likely going to upgrade my power supply first.

Thank you for some recomendations. I looked up some psu from Power and Cooling. I think I may have found one but before I do anything I think I will look around a little more. Here is the link to what I am currently looking at http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817703017. Tell me what you think. As far as the graphics card goes I listed the 9600 because I have heard a few good thing about it, I just listed it because it was possible. However I am still headed towards the Radeon 4760 overall.

Hello. Currently I have been thinking about upgrading my graphics card to a Radeon 4670 512MB, GeForce 9600, or a 8800GT graphics card. I have been leaning towards the Radeon one but that was because I heard it had low power consumptionwas and I have a 300W psu but the card still said to have a 400W psu. To be safe I want to upgrade my power supply to at least 400W. I do not really know a thing about power supplies so I thought that I would ask for help or guidence.

My current psu (I copied this from what was on the power supply):
Bestec
Model: ATX-300-12z CDR
Input: 100-127V-7A , 200-240V-4A 50/60Hz
Output: +12v - / 19A, -12V - /0.8A
300W MAX +5v - / 30A, +5vsb - /2A
+3.3v - / 28A

So please help if you can and if you need any more information just tell me.

What peripherals and other components do you have plugged in?(hdd's,cd/dvd writers,etc).darx55

I have a headset, mouse, 200GB hard drive, and DVD/CD RW. Thats the main stuff of what I can think of. Just basic stuff.

On another note power supplys seem to be a lot cheaper than I thought. Around $20 for 400W or so.

What site?from what I know,it cannot get more than 75-80 watts from the pci-e connector, and it doesn't use an extra power connector.I'd say you're good to go.darx55

It said that here http://www.sapphiretech.com/us/products/products_overview.php?gpid=253

Alright, just making sure.

I did a quick check on the Radeon 4670 card and it says it requires 400W. I'm a little afraid and paranoid of using something that wants 100W more than what I have because i'm not completely sure any side effects or troubles that I could run into. Sorry for bringing this up again :(.
