It's basically a way of smoothing otherwise jagged lines, it's just that it takes a pretty heavy toll on your system.

If it does get boring, it's far after Oblivion's point of boredom. There's just far more interesting stuff to do.

Contrary to basically EVERYONE on this forum, I really really ENJOYED Far Cry 2. I'd definitely be interested.

You realize going downhill is easier than going uphill, yes? Therefore your topic is incorrect. It should say instead "PC fighting an uphill battle".

If this board is any evidence of the PC Gaming community, then the constant stream of "just got a new PC"..."just getting into PC gaming"...threads etc. should speak for itself. The thing is, PC Gaming is statistically trending UPWARDS. Sales of gaming-level hardware/PCs and games are all going up, not down. Maybe if you looked at the Retail charts you'd be seriously disheartened...but look at the Steam/Impulse/digital download charts, and you'll see what's really happening. Developers are tending to favor multiplatform games, however, for a very obvious reason: it makes them more money. Why release on 1 platform, when you can release on 3? It makes sense, and I don't hold anything against the developers for it.

Crysis is the obvious choice. Supreme Commander, World in Conflict, and Blood Bowl are probably the best examples of PC strategy that you wouldn't find on consoles. ARMA II is as close to a puritan-like PC shooter as you're going to get, and Team Fortress 2 is THE ULTIMATE MULTIPLAYER EXPERIENCE, and you get just so much free stuff on the PC version. Garry's Mod is also worth mentioning, considering it wouldn't even be POSSIBLE on consoles, and it's just so darn unique.

[QUOTE="UltimateGamer95"][QUOTE="RHCPlusXbox"]umm Intel Core 2 CPU 6300 @ 1.86 GHz whatever that means.

You should post this in the PC Hardware discussion since I know most of the people over there can help you ;)

yeah, the hardware board is a better place for this.

Newegg has 9800 GTs going for around $100-$115. It might be an aging card, but it'll still get you real far in the games you mentioned. Oh, and you're going to probably want a 450w PSU. I'm not sure what the minimum is for a 9800GT, but I hear 450w is recommended.

I mean, what game DOESN'T have some cheaters? Games are code: code can be hacked. There are always those that will consider winning at all far better than winning FAIRLY.
