I got the full version 64 bit yesterday. I feel like i have been ripped off. It doesnt load quicker, in fact it may as well have been vista with reshuffled icons. So now I have to learn a whole new load of menus because they changed them for no reason.
I know people who watch TV in the times that I play games (usually on weekdays for 3 hours when i get home and most of the day on weekends) yet there is no article on TV addiction. Playing games does not inhibit your ability to socialise either. I have lots of friends, I admit about 50% of them play games which makes us even closer. We still go out, watch movies etc. The examples in the article are extreme. Of course there will be a few cases where gaming is a severe problem, just like someone who plays sports 24/7 or reads books a lot etc. This is not a problem yet, and it will never be more severe than smoking or alcoholics so why mention that in the article? Gaming addiction has not killed anyone. I play 20+ hours a week, including WoW, CoD4, DoW2... the list goes on. Yet i dont get urges to play games every day. I dont get sick if i dont play a game in a week. I just wait until I can play it the next week or the next month. Its a frame of mind that is where the problem is, not the games themselves. Of the 11.5 million people who play WoW there is probably less than 1% of people who will kill themselves to play the game. Whereas of the billions who smoke, above 90% of them will resort to violence to satisfy their needs if they are kept from smoking. Gaming addiction will never be a problem worse than smoking or alcoholics. Period.
