I have a 3DS that I play quite frequently, whether it be at home or riding the train. I can't speak for the vita because I have not bought one yet, but the 3ds fits easily into my pocket, and I can open it and be playing a game, a good game, in seconds. I carry my keys, wallet, phone, chap stick and a 3ds, and it's no big deal. I feel like the people who play iOS or android exclusively would never buy a handheld gaming device anyway, so their behavior is irrelevant. Personally, I would rather sit quietly and meditate or read the news than waste my time with a phone game.

I have to say, I find the anti-3Ds fervor a bit puzzling. I have played it and I think it's awesome. I want zelda oot, mario 3d, mario kart, tales of the abyss, cave story, rayman origins (yes I love platformers) resident evil and others. But I've also beat the hell out of every Uncharted and Resistance and once I save up enough, which will take a while because I'm a broke student, I will beat the hell out of the new vita versions. I love all kinds of games and I look forward to eventually enjoying both systems. Btw, I agree with everyone saying that the vita hardware looks sick, it certainly does.

I enjoy more than just playing the game, I appreciate the whole experience of browsing in the store, bringing it home, opening it and anticipating the joy of playing it. I also like to collect games, and I have been doing so since owning an NES as a child. Cloud gaming can not satisfy all of my needs. I like to own the game and I would not want to have to rely on an internet connection or a server in order to play. I guess I'm a traditionalist when it comes to gaming, and I don't see myself ever converting. If cloud gaming completely takes over, and I assume that there is a good chance that it could, it will be a sad day for me.

@raptorf_22 Maybe it’s the soundtrack, maybe it’s because a city that reflects the culture and aesthetic of 80's Miami is a fantastic setting, or maybe I just love Tommy Vercetti, but Vice City is my favorite to date.

Great article. The satirical side of Grand Theft Auto has always been an element that I have treasured. Even Grand Theft Auto II for Playstation, with its top down view and bullets that looks like dots floating across the screen, had fantastic radio dialogue. One of the most amusing parts of that game was riding around and listening to what the radio personalities were saying. It was a degree of wit and satire that you really couldn’t find anywhere else at the time, at least in popular media. I really am appreciative of Rockstar’s assiduous dedication to detail in all facets of GTA, but especially to the background elements. It is the world’s all encompassing vitality that makes immersion in it such a wonderful experience.

Awesome, just please abandon the driving physics used in GTA IV and I'll be happy.
