The closest thing I can think of that's like Oblivion would be Fallout 3... But that doesnt come out until next year. In the meantime, I would recommend Mass Effect or even Morrowind. Yeah, I still play that from time to time.
I censored the profanity in my motto by myself, and I got banned for a day because of it. Mind you, it took Microsoft about a month and a half to notice this.
After completing the game, you can start a new game + by selecting start new career. There will be an option to select your character from a previously beaten game. This will start you from the beginning with all your stats, equipment, etc.
Mass Effect by far. I was able to completely play the crap out of Halo 3 the first 3 days I got it. Mass Effect is much longer if you go through and do everything it has to offer. I've beaten it about 3 times already, but It still draws me in. From a multiplayer stand point, obviously Halo is better, but then again, if your in it for the multiplayer, just get Call of Duty 4.
