If you want strictly an IPS panel then you should probably go with ASUS. You should look into ASUS: VN289H - IPS (6Ms). Also, look into ASUS: MX279H - IPS (5Ms).

I am using an Asus MX279H as my main monitor, and my old Asus TN Panel as my secondary. I really like the MX279H, although it is not completely borderless/Frameless. There's about a centimeter thick black borders (not part of the actual lit up screen), but it still looks great.

I calibrated it myself and running it at about 2.20 Gamma. A big improvement in colors over my TN panel. The TN panel, even when tinkered with looks washed out. That is to be expected though.

It is slightly cheaper on Amazon.com: Asus MX279H Monitor

Why I highly recommend Amazon.com because the return/exchange policy is simpler and easier than Newegg.com. Why I do think Newegg.com has a decent to good customer service, Amazon is hassle-free. You do not even have to pick up the phone to call them. Just click to return, print the free shipping labels, put it on the box and drop it at your local UPS store. Before you even send back the defective monitor, if it does come defective, Amazon.com will send one once you hit the process the return button. You can get the new monitor first and ship back the defective one within 30 days. You will only be charged ONCE, not twice for the replacement. But if you don't send back the defective monitor, you will then of course be charged for both items. Just letting you know.

Who cares about power consumption as a power user? It's not as if we're over at SPCR using Pico PSU's and 5200RPM hard drives tinkering around. In any case I say give it a try, if it doesn't work out he can always sell the card.

I don't know what a GTX 660 would go for on the aftermarket but I doubt it would be much, as such it could be more beneficial for OP to keep the card using it as a dedicated physX card together with the new card.

It's just an idea that's all.

I would have tried it myself had it not been for the fact that I'm using an ATI R9 290X.

Who cares about power consumption? Aren't we wasteful.

I cannot even dignify this with a response. But, I'll go ahead anyway.

Anyone that knows a bit about tech knows that dedicated physX cards are not worth it. Not even 10 years ago. Now, SLi would be worth it if you're gaming at maxed out settings. It would be smarter to sell the card and make some money back. Use that money and do something nice for someone you care about. There are hundreds of other things you can do with that money that would be better than using it as a physX card.

It's not even a nice idea if you really think about it. Go ahead and try if you were going to try it out anyway. Why ask or point it out if you're going to do it anyway. I was simply stating my opinion and it was a valid one. No need to get snappy.

Good. Stick with your "AMD" R9 290x.

1. Just buy one of these: http://www.amazon.com/Metro-Vacuum-ED500-500-Watt-Electric/dp/B001J4ZOAW/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1416690676&sr=8-1&keywords=pc+air+duster+device

Great tip, thanks.

I use the Fractal Design ARC Midi R2.

It's an open case with good airflow I don't have to use any intake or exhaust fans to keep the components cool, this also helps to keep noise to a minimum. I'm fairly happy with it.

I don't get any dust buildup apart from a thin coating of dust that will show up if I don't clean it in time, it doesn't seem to matter if I use dust filters or not either, a thin coating will always appear after a while.

All in all there's three fans in the system, four if you include the PSU, but its fan tend to not be spinning.

Thanks!

That's a nice looking case. Simple and clean.

Panty hose will work wonders. Very cheap, blocks dust but not air. You just have to be a bit creative with how to attach it. And they come in different colors to match your case. . .

That's pretty creative. :o)

Seeing as how I've picked up nearly every game I've wanted this year, I'll say over the course of the next few months, it would have to be The Witcher 3 by a landslide, x 1,000,000.3 (running number 3). After that, The Division. Rainbow Six: Seige.

Pillars of Eternity, of course. How could I forget that game.

This game does have more NPCs on screen than any other released title that I have ever witnessed so I could imagine even a strong CPU will be in a bit of a pickle, paired with a strong GPU as well.

Then you have the issue with optimization in this case. Ubisoft even openly admitted and they said they are working on it. They even provided an update to remedy some technical difficulties. Not sure how it runs now, but I can imagine far from optimum.

AC: Unity is the best looking AC game. It uses advanced lighting compared to last-gen, and other goodies. But like I said, there are just tons of NPCs on screen. It's pretty ridiculous. So much going on.

Even if you have the latest GPUs like the GTX 970, 980, you'll have to be patient for the developers to iron out the technical difficulties and hope the maturity of the video drivers will give you a smooth running game sooner than later.

If you go for a new Nvidia card (such as the GTX 970) you could use your 660 as a dedicated physX card.

Yes you can, However in my experience its useless when you have a high end gpu

This. It will just be added power consumption. Modern day GPUs can handle the workload of physX in itself. I feel you'll be better off selling it and using that money to do whatever you want with it instead.

I recently purchased a GTX 970 and several online friends have as well and they're all VERY satisfied with it. Personally, I went with EVGA SC ACX 2.0 model, and I'm very satisfied. Low noise, even with my "wide open" HAF 932 case, and it maxes out the latest new releases like DA:I, Shadow of Mordor. And, I'm not just talking about "mixed" settings of ultra and high, or even medium. Max = ultra, MSAA 4x, etc, at 1080p. If you game at 1080p, you should be pretty happy with the results.

I take them out. They restrict airflow and look pretty gross when they collect dust. My entire case came covered in that stuff so I had to rip it all out. All it amounts to is me having a lot of extra crap to clean when it comes to dusting out my PC.

Same here. They cut down the amount of air-flow coming in so I removed them. Not to step on anyone's toes, but I will never understand the argument of "if I don't have dust filters, my PC will collect dust like no tomorrow." I cleaned my PC 3 weeks ago and I cannot even swipe enough dust on to the tip of my finger. And I use my PC every day and often for college, work, and some gaming. It's on at least 5 hours a day. Peak usage would be 10+ per day on the weekends for lots of homework and movie watching on my breaks.

It also helps if people dusted/wiped their hardwood floors, or if they have carpet, vacuumed their room so that does not get sucked into your PC. ;o)

My PC is in room attached to a god-forsaken storage basement, vacuuming unfortunately doesn't really do all that much for me. AFAIK the carpet aren't the source of dust, but rather our skin, and my PC gets dusty fast (within a couple months). Usually the dust is so thick that I have to pick it out with a steel pick, because air isn't enough force to get it out of my heatsinks and whatnot. Still, I'm really tempted to pick up that dust-blower vacuum that you linked...

Yeah, the skin we shed makes up for 80% of the "dust" we find in our households. It's like when your doctor says, 95-98% of the time, your cold isn't a cold, it's allergies. Next thing you know, you're in bed for a few days. Depends. But it really depends how many people live with you, or you may live alone. Do you have windows in this PC gaming area? Is there a door that you have open a lot? Some of that can add to it. For example, walk into your kitchen, and swipe the top of your refrigerator with your hand and see how much dust will be on it. I'm sure those aren't from human skin.

The heatsink is the most annoying thing to clean. While this dust vac does not get rid of every single spec of dust, it gets rid of 95% of the dust from the heatsink. It has several attachments. Some of the tips have brushes. Perfect for heatsinks!

Dragon Age: Inquisition should be on that MFAA list too. The latest Nvidia Driver added DA:I.

MFAA support and basic driver support may be mutually exclusive things (otherwise I'd imagine them just saying all games work with MFAA because all games have basic NVIDIA driver support).

Well, yes and no. Haha. Nvidia driver 344.75 is the game ready Nvidia drivers for Far Cry 4, Dragon Age Inquisition, The Crew, and they denounced MFAA to ensure better performance for those games. Before 344.75, MFAA wasn't even an option in the 3D settings. The OP is talking about 344.75, so if anything they would support these latest games more so than something like Crysis 3 which no one cares about now. :P

http://www.incgamers.com/2014/11/nvidia-344-75-drivers-released-for-far-cry-4-dragon-age-inquisition

http://www.extremetech.com/gaming/194629-analyzing-nvidias-new-aa-can-mfaa-improve-image-quality-without-a-frame-rate-hit

I don't think they're meant to be exclusive for any game, as much as to say, which developer would bother to support MFAA. So granted Nvidia and "said" developers work together to ensure it is available for their game. You could almost take a guess which developers would bother to work with Nvidia to have their game support MFAA. Surely, Far Cry 4, DA:I, would be developers that would want MFAA in their games. Not so much a matter of exclusivity, but more like which developers care about their customer's satisfaction and support.

Nvidia has made this very clear that it is what developers are willing to do in their end. They are always open to provide the support given the developer initiates it and goes through with having a specific feature like SLi be available for their game.

If I find that Bioshock Infinite doesn't support MFAA, I'm not going to flinch. That game runs well already, maxed.

Edit: I think I just repeated what you said. Lol. But yeah, if anything MFAA was mainly for the latest releases, I'm sure. If I can get a chance to test it out tonight, I'll report back.
