Or, if you can wait for about 45 days, you'll be able to find it for about 50-60% off its current price.

If you CAN'T wait....rent it. Watch reviews on YouTube, read what others have to say, but please...I beg of you...Don't buy it !!

I thought the game sounds were pretty Spot on. The I first thing I noticed was the music, and the sounds. So while I do bash the game for its gameplay mechanics, I will say that the music and sounds were pretty good.

i do somewhat feel that if they were to mimic some of the attributes of dead space 1, the slow pacing, the errie sounds, a few surprises, and limit the amount of  firepower you could carry, it may have well scored better.

but, it didn't. And 6 years in development only proved 1 thing: the longer you devloper a game, the more you lose sight of what the final product should be. It was proven with Duke Nukem, and I for one was glad that 3D Realms took a s**t. Now, who's next in the crosshairs of s**tty game devloper doom?

Your going to read that review, and then tell me that they didn't "buy" that review?

you may be right that game companies don't BUY reviews as often as we think, but when you got millions dollars invested in 1 project, and the success or failure of that 1 game may be all that stands between your next game development and unemployment, you better bet your a$$ that they are willing  to grease the palms of the local politician (game reviewer) for an endorsement.

I guess you believe that officials in washington DC don't look out for their own interests by putting small changes in a bill that helps their district in exchange for a YES vote on an upcoming bill that's gonna go to the senate for approval.

Check out this review here:

http://www.egmnow.com/articles/reviews/egm-review-aliens-colonial-marines/

last night, I started reading about video game review embargoes, and how game companies make game reviewers hold their review of a game until a certain date. In some instances, reviews aren't allowed until A game has been out for a few weeks. We've all ran across a game that we wanted to get a review on because we saw it on the shelf at wal-mart or best buy, but wanted to know how good it was, only to find very little on it. "But the game has been out 3 weeks...what the hell?"

i read the review above, and  before I got to the second paragraph, all I could think was...."they bought this sum b**ch." Now, it's commen knowledge that game companies will give certain gaming web sites "exclusive" information on an upcoming game IF they praise and score a game they know is going to suck with a high score and total praise. This review makes it sound like Aliens : CM is the s**t ! Awesome gameplay, balanced multiplayer, incredible sounds, you are the marine, you are the galactic a**kicker, you are on LV246, and you ARE GOD !!

To quote a line from Rambo, "I've been playing games since your mamma was wiping your nose!" (Ok, not a direct quote) But I've been playing since the Atari 2600 days, thru the Commadore 64, Amiga 500, Sega Genisys, Nintendo...you name it, I had it. I know a bad game when I see it, when I play it, and most certainly when I feel ripped off by purchasing it. I played this game...for 3 hours. I was bored to tears with it. I know..I KNOW....it was going to score lower than dirt. I said it on earlier posts, I predicted it, I confirmed it, and alas, it has come to fruition.

You may know me as Eagle_2004....but you can call me Nostrodamus.

Ok...looks like i found some early reviews for ya....well, the game scores anyway:

A handful of early Aliens: Colonial Marines review scores have made their way on to the internet.

Most notable is that of UK games mag Games TM, which according to subscribers has issued the Gearbox FPS a 4/10.

Published scores:

  • Games TM - 4/10: "Mechanically, the game functions, but the fun of the Aliens universe is quickly drained away by what amounts to a mundane shooting gallery through a drab and lifeless world."
  • PS3gen.fr - 5/10: (Translated) "We expected a lot from this project. And unfortunately, our disappointment was all the greater

As i stated in a OP that has somehow disappeared, I said that of the games recives a score greather than 6.0, that i would blow my self.

Looks like i'll not be giving me a blow job anytime soon. I'm that confident that other game reviewers will score it that low.

I did find the posts over in the Xbox 360 section, but this section was chock full of posts relating to game play, and the overall suckiness of the game. Which makes me wonder if GameStop suspended the forum until after the game ofically came out, or deleted it all together.

Looks like an episode fit for the X Files.

I started a posting detailing why the new Aliens : CM was going to suck.

I came back this afternoon to read any new questions, and for some reason, the entire forum on Aliens :CM has disappeared. I hope this is a mistake on my part, and not Gamespot bending to the game companies displeasure of the negative reviews concerning the game.

if it is, then free speech has defiantly taken a step back. If its me, then I'm a dumb a$$. Please Gamespot....let me be the dumb a$$.

No...he's not kidding. The game is actually that bad. If you were to look around the forums here, you'd see that he's not the only one who feels this way after playing the game.

I played the game, and it sucks donkey balls. I even said in my OP that if this game gets above a 6.0, that i'd blow myself.

Go ahead and be a non-believer. When the rapture comes, your gonna be left behind....playing your piece of s**t Aliens game, while the rest of us are saving our money for something better.

Or you could wait a month, and i can almost guarantee the price will be down to $39

Your choice.

Please don't pick this up. Rent it...I say again...RENT IT FIRST !!

Since when has anyone been able to melee an Alien ? Or grab an Alien by the face and keep it from biting you with it's inner jaws ? I swear to god, your going to get tired of smacking an Alien in the face, having it stagger back, and then having enough time to to bring up your Pulse rifle and shower it with 10mm caseless rounds. Totally unbelievable.

And then you got the "walk down a long corridor with no action" segments, but when you get to a locked door that your A.I. Buddy has to weld open, you have to cover him while every f**king Alien on the planet attacks you.

I'm glad I downloaded this game, because I was going to go to Best Buy when it came out and throw $65 dollars of hard earned money at this sorry excuse of entertainment. All I can think about when playing this game is the Gamefly commercial where they guy just repeats "stop it, stop it, STOP IT"  over and over again, knowing he got a bad game.

I wanted this game to be good, I wanted to be able to support the hard work that went into designing and programming this game; but when the end result is a sinking feeling that they just didn't think this project through, then the only support I can offer is a head hung down low, shaking side to side, and saying "Why, How, and Who the f**k green-lighted this monstrosity of a so-called video game."

Before you set my balls fire about piracy, let me just say; if the game was that good, then why was there no demo available before the games release ? Most game companies won't release a game demo if they know the overall product within the disk is not up to consumers standards, but rely on hype and hope to be the driving force for sales.

I can only hope that most of us gamers are at an age where we can see through the bulls**t. Rent it...before you spend your money on it.
