One thing the PS3 lacks on is improving anti-aliasing. The better graphics get, the more this sticks out to me. It's a shame dev's have such a struggle coding PS3 games. I heard the process is a pain in the butt. It makes me wonder if the GPU bottlenecks the performance. Realistically speaking, running games at 720p is pretty rough with high detail, let alone 1080p. I have seen the RE5 screenshots and have played the KZ2 demo. I'd say they are both very graphically enhanced compared to many titles out there! Different styles, though.

The beeps are even more annoying when HL2 or any other game that freezes.. Well... Freezes up and you have to reboot.. The triple "beep, beep, beep!" I can read colors and can hear a system running. This is why my PC doesn't have a system speaker for the bootup-beeps. It's also why car alarms have a silent arm/disarm mode. Some people just don't dig stupid beeps. I'm one of those beepin' haters! Perhaps a small piercing in the system speaker on the PS3 shall silence it for good.. Now, where is the damned little speaker at?! :)

I think it's a dumb feature to have. None of my other equipment needs to beep because they either have power-on LEDs (which the PS3 has) or LCD panels that make me fully aware of it running. Maybe one day we'll have a way to hack the PS3's mainframe... Maybe.

PlayOn will allow you to utilize your Netflix and Hulu accounts. It has a 14 day freeware license followed by a $40 one-time charge for the software. In order to run this, your PC must remain on to synch as your PS3's media server. PS3 media server is freeware that'll allow you to synch your PC's drive content to your PS3. Same deal, PC must be on. Have fun with it! :)

People have a right to review and tell us their opinion on a game....But at the same time, this should have been in a blog and or a review.Or if he did want to make a post he should of made something on the lines of a highly detailed post about the game...Problem is there is already one of those in the General Gaming forum.K1LLR3175
Sooo.. In other words people have rights they can exercise but they should be exercised properly? Fascinating! :D I agree with you entirely, despite my sarcasm. In fact, I'd be a lot less worried about even reading this thread if it were subject-related in the topic alone! "just wanted to share..." didn't exactly prepare me for a RE5 users' review that was probably thought out immediately after 24hrs+ of gaming. Case in point, name your topic "My RE5 review" or something that will give me a precursor of what your post will have to say. The problem you mention (review thread already out there) just goes to show how worthless some users find the search feature to truly be... Or maybe it's because other threads start off with "FYI to all" rather than the topic they want to discuss... Maybe I'm just burning brain cells thinking to hard about something that doesn't really matter to me all that much anyways... :) Maybe, eh?

[QUOTE="codezer0"] No hard drive? Yea, no... Sony basically created their own problem by making the BD drive so slow that hard drive installs are mandatory now for ps3 games.

what exactly is the PS3s' BD read speed? I thought it was the sourcing that made for such tedious load-up times. Even with games installed on my hurting 80gb hdd, I still have one hell of a time waiting for scene load-ups. It seems more obvious with some games (read: Half Life 2) than others. SFVI is slightly faster loaded onto the hdd, but I don't think the space vs load-up quickness was worth the trade off. I'd say most of my non-PS3 exclusive games seem to take forever and a day to load. My theory has been poor source coding and too many unforeseen memory leaks combating into one wonderful puddle of.. Poo. I don't care that my PS3 doesn't have SD card slots or whatever else it's missing. That's where my PS3 Media Server and PlayOn chime in. PS2 games don't matter to me either. Give me some more 1080p games, though! Devs are definitely slacking on this. the anti-aliasing is poor at best (i'm a PC gamer soooo.. I'm sorry for the whining) and the added resolution definitely helps pick up the FSAA's slack. Jagged photo-realistic race cars are mediocre at best. Luke Skywalker looks like he has a lego aura surrounding him. Phone lines look like a sophisticated MS Photo job. The PS3 needs to be tuned into what it's best at doing, not into a generalized machine that can do everything. A Jack of all Trades will never be seen as the Ace. In order to be the Ace, you must set the pole of quality, performance and products.

Yeeeah.. I sometimes wonder if people realize GAMESPOT is a game review/preview website... ...... .. (the extra periods are Morse code, stating "please help me!") Leave it to the pro kids. Worry about productively conserving ammo in your game instead. :)

So you're saying it could be because of fluctuations? is a fluctuation where the power goes slightly up for a second, and not because of an electrical storm? I'll talk to my dad about hiring an electrician.hydralisk86
The problem most likely is the electrical layout of your home. Most older electrical systems preexisting in homes weren't intended for high loads of modern technology. Keep in mind, this place might have been wired when ceiling fans were an ammenity most didn't have along with TVs, dish washers, PCs, laptops charging, high output audio systems, cable boxes, VCRs/DVD players/Blu Ray systems. Therefore, the place can be running on as few as 4 circuits for 2 floors. If this is the case, it's fluctuating DOWN. The draw is greater than the output, increasing heat and reducing electrical efficiency to your products that you try to power. Is this place running fuses or circuit breakers? If it is breakers, how many are there and how many floors does it have? Running new electrical wires may not be a bad idea and can be done relatively easily (at least, without any of the problems an electrician may bump into) along with a breaker box that can add more breakers to spread the load more evenly throughout your rooms. I had the same problem in my condo. 4 fuses for 7 rooms. 2 of them were for the 220v in-wall AC units. You do the math! I couldn't even plug my PS3 into the wall without shorting a circuit!!

As far as the SOTN that's on PSN, I was severely disappointed in my purchase. They should have at least ATTEMPTED to beef up the graphics so that it wouldn't look so blocky in HD. Instead, they give us filters that make it look like an oil spill. As much as I loved the original, I bought this game and haven't played a full level on it. What a joke. What upsets me is that Sony does such a poor job supporting their PSP but adds upgraded old titles to it all the time. Minus Capcom, I haven't really had any luck coming across any upgraded old titles for the next gen consoles... At least off the top of my head. Which, to me, is a bad sign of sales abuse. Just as many panties bunched up about RE5's multi mode being a $5 add on, I'm pissed that I pay $5-15 for games that look even worse now that my LCD hi-def TV absolutely rapes the pixels it was born to praise. That said, I'm not entirely against a 3D Castlevania, but I don't like the idea of changing it's gameplay mode to full 3D. Entice us with the feat of having a 2D game with 3D feel in my opinion. Castlevania works too well as a 2D game to disturb the vibe that's hooked so many of us to it's style. It's like Mario 64. Despite the creativity it lets devs unleash, the game is not longer that classical and fully enticing feat it once was. look at how well the NEW Super Mario Bros did. I love that game! Not 3D at all, but updated and just as fun to play as any game out there with replay value that'll make it historically a DS hit. 3D isn't always good just like more isn't always better. Sometimes devs need to consider how simplicity can bang a bigger punch than environment can. I am quite a bit old school and definitely biased towards it. To me, the only real reason to go 3D is for sports, Strategy, RPGs and FPSs. Otherwise, consider keeping the working factor that made games so phenomenally fun to play!

I was severely disappointed to see Road Rash missing from the Sega Collection myself as well. I knew it wasn't on there before I bought it, but anyone who played Sonic most likely played Road Rash. It was a blockbuster hit for the Genesis! I'm going to keep myself optimistic about this... MotoGP has absolutely nothing on RR and there are very few motorcycle games out there, adding the icing to that genres' dooming cake!
