Downloading negatively? I've never even heard of that, unless that's a new way to describe uploading. Downloading entire DVD images can be a hassle, but for now (and probably forever) this is the only way of getting this content. I just finished watching Disc 1 in its entirety, and it was quite fun, almost like vicariously enjoying the hype and anticipation through the eyes of the Gamespot staff.

Mine was 4.3 gigabytes or so (I promptly deleted the file after burning it and testing the finished DVD). I used Firefox to download everything and crossed my fingers.

Jeanart, for the press conference videos, select the orange "Burn Full DVD" buttons. Each conference indeed takes an entire DVD!

After keeping my computer plugged in, online, and downloading continuously for a day and a half straight (a personal record), I've finally managed to download complete image files of all 5 DVDs. It would have been much easier to simply order them and have them shipped, but I guess that last year that plan wasn't so profitable, though I did get my 2005 set by upgrading my Gamespot Complete plan to one that has since been cancelled and converted (or reverted) to what is now called Gamespot Total Access (to which every serious gamer should subscribe). All 5 downloaded DVDs appear to be in working order, and I appreciate Gamespot's instructions on how to successfully burn an image file using the most popular disc burning software. Thanks to Gamespot for providing an accessible, if particularly cumbersome, means of obtaining footage of this year's E3 convention. Even if I only watch it once completely, it will be tucked into the archives for quick retrieval should I wax nostalgic in my venerable years and yearn for the archaic time of electronic entertainment circa 2006, as I do now for the halcyon days when the Magnavox Odyssey, the Atari Video Computer System, and the New Wave of British Heavy Metal reigned supreme. Those were the days!
