So I decided to doublecheck and it is D1601... I tried 3 different cables (2 from PSU and one that came with the video card) and it's still the same. Does it mean it's faulty? Cuz how he can it be over temp on the first seconds of its "life"

Is there a 6-pin and 8-pin connector on the card (like the HD4870) - when I got my HD4870, it was giving me the same problems because I plugged a 6-pin into an 8-pin port on the card. Check that as well.skapunkclarence
nope, just a 6-pin

HD4850 LEDs
D1601 - Over temp protection enabled
D1602 - EXT 12V fault
Taken from game.amd.com forumMarfoo
Well, about 12V - I connected it directly to my PSU = didn't work... and I used the extension that came with it = didn't work about over temp - how can that be on the first seconds of the boot?

Hi guys,

I got my new parts from Newegg (new everything), so I put it all together, connected everything and turned on the computer. My monitor had no signal and I noticed a red light in the back of my HD4850...I read similiar threads and many said that it's a power issue but it shouldn't because I got a 600W PSU. Unfortunately, I have an AGP system so I can't check with any other video card.

My question is - should I return it or is there any way to fix it?
the problem is, in order to RMA it, I would have to return all of the parts cuz I ordered everything in one order :?

PLEASE HELP!!

but can someone answer about the UE3 and AA?

subrosian

It does support AA. I know R6:V2 has 2xMSAA, and Gears has 2xMSAA for certain objects (I think it's just static level geometry, and not stuff like character models).

thanks; and it is for both systems right? UE3 has AA for both 360 and PS3?

Are you discussing *the engine itself* or a specific game? Mirror's Edge does not have AA on either the PS3 or the 360.

yea, i was talking about the engine itself! :)
