Just kidding.  Here's my real setup:

61" Samsung DLP Model HL-S6187W

Harmon Kardon AVR 325 7.1 Surround Sound Receiver

Polk Audio towers and surround speakers

Velodyne Subwoofer

Oh yes and the systems: PS2, PS3, XBOX, XBOX 360, Gamecube, Wii (Not pictured: N64, SNES, NES, PSone, Genesis, SMS, Turbografx, Atari 2600, Dreamcast and Colecovision).

  E-gad!...where and how much was that tv?

Bought this when it first came out at BB. With the stand and extended warranty it came out to just under $4800 I think...

[QUOTE="cofn42"]

This is my Monster Theater, mostly used for Games more than anything else, all custom built by me.

All my equipment, including everything is about $25000 cdn.

Hi, my name is Kris, I am a Gaming addict......

Rotel RSP-1098 Signal Processor - 7.1 Dolby Digital EX Surround and 7.1 DTS ES Surround

Rotel RMB-1090 - 2 Channel Amp - 360 watts per channel - front speaker

Rotel RMB-1095 - 5 Channel Amp - 200 watts per channel - 2 side, 2 rear, center channel

Rotel RDV-1080 - DVD Player Custom Built Home Theater PC

Definitive Technolgies Speakers, 2 Front Towers, 4 Rear Surrounds, Center Channel

All Speakers have powered subwoofers (2x 15" Subs in fronts, 1x 10" Sub in center, 8x 6.5" Subs in rears)

Sanyo Z4 Projector - 720 Native - 1080I capable with HDMI - Displaying at 113 inches.

PS3 - 20 Gig

Nintendo Wii

Xbox 360

Here we go!

The View from the captian's chair....

The receiver - Top Left has a 7" LCD screen in it, and yes, you can actually display the image on the screen on the LCD. The flash on the Camera exposed all the wires in the back, but normal front viewing you cant see any wires in the shadows.

PSWii60 in the house......

Stadium seating for the family.

Sanyo Projector up in the custom box.

Jay and Silent Bob gaurding the DVD's

Rear Speakes and The Lego Death Star II

the Race is about to Begin.......

Here is a little more Motostorm.

Resistance. Sadly the image on my Digital Camera does not do the game shots justice. It is not that great in the dark, so the images appear a lot darken then they are.

Hope you all enjoy, feedback welcome.

Check out this receiver. It's what I just got yesterday, ordered it from Future Shop. http://www.onecall.com/ProductDetails.aspx?id=33276

Just so you know, many users are upset with that model because it is shifty with how it handles HDMI. Instead of doing what most users want, it simply passes the entire signal through the receiver. Therefore it does not touch the audio to even do bitstream. Therefore, you have to plug an optical cable into the receiver to get any sound, and also miss out on the real benefits of HDMI audio. Many of the newer receivers are tricky in their manuals regarding HDMI audio, so it takes a lot of research to figure out which receivers do what most people really want. The Pioneer Elite 80 also does this, which is unfortunate.

You seem to be an audiophile and I am a little interested in upgrading to a decent HDMI receiver. Willing to spend up to $1000. What would you recommend?

There are a few ways you could go in order to get the audio quality of HDMI as well as an all around good receiver. A). Denon avr-2307ci and higher (My recommendation is the avr-2807 in your price range) B.) Yamaha 1700 and higher C.) Sony STR-DG1000 and higher D.) Pioneer Elite 81 and higher (My second choice for you would be the Elite 82) E.) Onkyo 674 and higher. (Only supports 5.1 pcm) The Denon line is probably your best bet. You can get a pretty decent receiver in your price range, and you will be more than happy.

Hey thanks. I was actually leaning towards the Denon and I've read some very nice things about it.

How did you get to be level 31 and not learn how to read the entire thread? This has been mentioned numerous times already and it is beside the point since the focus was on the difference between SD and HD not 360 and PS3.

Too add your post, how come no one has notice my posts that you guys are not really comparing HD since these images are posted smaller than SD?

I noticed and saw your point. I just think that these pictures serve to show more the difference in quality between SD and HD rather than represent SD and HD in their actual forms. Even in these forum posts you can see that there is a difference albeit these pics do not represent true HD.

Well, you might just be comparing poor quality composite 480i on a interlaced tv, which never photograph well due to interlacing compared to how it looks in person, to a higher quality cable on a progressive screen that photographs much better.

So again, these are more like comparing poor cable composite 480i on a real interlaced screen vs higher quality cable 480p on a progressive screen, or lower since most these are not even posted at 480p.

Touche. All right I get your point. This thread is garbage with the exception of my eyes open vs eyes closed pictures. Try to argue that one lol.

Screw the HD vs SD debate.  Check this out, the difference is much more noticeable:

Eyes closed:

Eyes open:

OMG!  After seeing this comparison I would have to recommend "Eyes Open"
