:S, gt 5 just came out, forza 3 last year... give it time, cant stand forza personaly, 3 felt like my hand was held all the time i dont find it as serious as GT

JohnF111

Turn off all assists, Increase difficulty, Turn damage to simulation. Don't use rewind. Problem solved. You're welcome.

heheh yeah basically this, even GT5 has some assists but i don't think they are by default as high as Forza but could be wrong, i've spun out on GT5 quite a lot but i did turn them way down and even then each car has it's own handling settings some have ABS and some don't, same for anti-lock brakes and traction control, hard to judge how the game treats the player.

That's incorrect. In Forza 3 even with all the assist options off the game still has a lot of hidden assists going on, making it very hard to loose control of the car. There's talk that the last patch removed this, but it's not sure.

It's meant to make players think they are great at the game.

The future of gaming will be controller less.

ImportBMWRacer

You couldn't be more wrong. Diverse markets.

Obviously change is scary, but you need to understand that it is blatanlty obvious that in the future it controllers of many kind will be unneeded. Just think Darwin....

You´re right. If there´s anything evolution has taught us is that Humans didn't become the dominant species because they have opposable thumbs. Is because we can choose not to use them.

  1. It means you can have a lot of different types of buildings that are visually different. How many times in recent years have you played an RPG and entered a building or dungeon that was identical in nearly every way to every other dungeon or Inn or whatever? Why was that? Were they lazy? Was it budget? No. That's not the question. The question was, was that game ALSO available for a console? Yes. It was memory.

chris_yz80

This makes no sense at all. I could believe the story about multiple creatures, because if they are showing at the same time there has to be memory for each different type.

But if you are in one building, other buildings are not loaded into the ram, so there's no ram restriction for different types of dungeons, inns, whatever. I'm afraid that's due to devs not wanting to make completly diferent assest for each building.

i quoted that, i think what he was trying to say was that asset limitation occurs when your constantly goign in and out of buildings as such the end result is that buildings are very similar graphically for loading reasons as such everything looks similar as it uses the same items and textures

What he said is that dungeons and buildings where similar because there was a memory constraint. That makes no sense because the ram stores only one dungeon\building at the time.

[QUOTE="jdc6305"]

I'm realy begining to hate games now adays. It seem like most game companies are out to impress imature gamers with mature material. Instead of focusing on whats realy important like gameplay. Take god of war for instance. Some of the back drops look cool and ripping a guys head off is techinicaly (graficaly) impressive. But the gameplay just sucked. It was a button masher all the way. I played the game for 2 hours and tossed it aside. I haven't picked it up since.

Another game worth mentioning is GTA4. The game looks flashy but it has no substinance. Go here kill this guy go there kill that guy. It got so repetive I tossed it aside. Aslo how may games does the market need with guns? Seriously 99% of the games outtechnicaly use the same mechanics. I'm so sick of first and 3rd person shooters.

Very few games are non liniar. What ever happend to adventure games like Zelda? Yeah sure Zelda still exsists but we have to wait 5 years between games. I'm getting sick of scripted games that lead you down one path that ends after 6 hours.

I buy tons of games jsut to find one that I realy like. I've bought probobly 30 games in the last 2 year only like 3 of them enough to finish. Most just get tossed aside. I'm looking at my collection right now and another game is Assissins Creed two. I got 2 hours in just to find out it's one endless rooftop. Maybe if I were 14 the hidden blade up his sleave would have impressed me.

I've been playing mario galaxy a lot lately and found the best thing a game company could do in a game is offer some variety in gameplay. But it seems most companies are out to impress imature gamers with mature material.

Kandlegoat

play God of War on Titan and come back here. Normal is for kids. sorry, kiddo.

way to miss the point..he's saying the game is just a shallow murder simulator...that's hardly mature.

anyways,a couple examples of mature games.

Deus Ex

Planescape Torment

Longest Journey Series

Silent Hill 2

Braid

Beyond good and Evil (despite the cartoon look and Pig Sidekick,it has a very deep intriguing plot that deals with lies and conspiracies)

How's Braid a mature game. It's not immature but it never striked me has a particular mature game.
