The backstab issue to be frank is the servers themselves being so bad but if they made it smaller it would help to conpensate the lag, hornets ring should be nerfed a little in against players but stay the same against monsters.when invading a world with phantoms removing the invade possibility is just flat out stupid and estus flasks not healing them isn't really needed, yes its hard fighting people with phantoms but the host using estus flasks wastes his stock on his allies and most of the time they will often die before the host heals them up or leaves himself open to a ground pounding.

The grass crest shield i guess is a valid complaints i personally don't mind it since kicking works fine

eh? the only mod for dark souls is the texture fix, and any mod that actually works with the multiplayer will never be made. it takes far too long, for example a just cause 2 multiplayer mod was put in (its full single player game) and it took them 2 years to make and its still really odd.

The game's multiplayer is focused on matching you with people you don't know and probably wont see again and that gives the game's multipalyer an anonymous feeling that they want to keep. 

Thats the reason its like that or else they would have allowed you to invite people after doing the multiplayer like that in demon's souls

your just going to have to be in a close level bracket (+ or - 10% of their level + 10 levels i think it was) and keep replacing the summon sign every 2-4 minutes untill they see it and hope to god that summoning doesn't fail
