Its funny how a lot of this seems to hit the nail on the head. I did a thesis 2 years ago on the evolution of video gaming with a sub thesis on the detrimental and positove aspects of video gaming and a lot of this is very spot on with the results I found through my research. I think that for some people that can't live without video gaming yet live good lifes and have a healthy social life is no different then someone who has to watch their favorite show on tv just to get through the week. I can say I'm not an addict, but without video gaming then I would find it harder to keep myself occupied or kill time when I have no work or my friends/girlfriend is busy. Much of this is real, but just as real as any other hobby. Some people like jogging 4 hours a day, doesn't make them an addict.
