I see you didn't include "Least reliable hardware" or "Most prone to use micro-rapements for horse armor"

The current sales for the Wii in Japan is 2,535,196

The current PS3 sales for the PS3 in Japan is 901,739

Can the will sell 3 million units in Japan before the PS3 manages to sell 1 million ?

if the Wii does how can the PS3 over come a 2 million Wii lead in Japan ?

what do u think ?

laughingman42

I think it will be close. the PS3 is selling about 12,000 a week last time I saw and the wii was about 70,000 I think. so teh wii might just beat it

Actually the Wii is currently selling at 53kish and the PS3 hasn't broken 10k for awhile, this last week it sold about 9398 units. So if we assume PS3 sells 10k per week uninterrupted (as pathetic as that figure is its a doubtful one too.) and the Wii hovers above 50k every week. Then the Wii will sell 3 million in 9-10 weeks, but it's also very likely too see sporadic boosts to 70k or the sorts if the supply is good, so it'll probably hit the mark in 8-9 weeks. While the PS3 will hit 1mill in 10 weeks if it sells 10k a week (HINT: Currently its not.)

I'd buy it at 30$ if turns out interesting. I'm rooting for this devs to get a publisher and if you are not you are the cancer of the industry.

I was looking at the media crate thread and just realized how much of a brutal beating MS and Sony are getting. So I thought this year TGS will be pretty much the coronation of Nintendo as emperor of Japan.

I think there'll be a cascade of Japanese support for the Wii the usual (****loads) for the DS, a very decent support for the PSP abysmal support for the PSTriple and you know...the 360 is the 360 in Japan.

The E3 is in general harder to predict, so in amount and quality of the support I think it'll go like this: Wii-DS--360PSP-PS3---PS2 (The beast finally dies.)

How do you think this year's TGS and E3 will pan out?

That's actually pretty shocking. Isn't the Wiis attatch rate still a lot lower than 360s though? I assume sales are more concentrated amongst a few select games.cakeorrdeath

The 360 pretty much has a godly attach ratio but the userbase just stopped growing. They need a price drop to set it on fire.

does VC count?

rephrase: Does VC ever count.

a_ratchet_fan

since they're re-releases with no added perks besides slight graphical updates... I'd have to say no.

Quite a convenient way to dismiss some of the best games of all time.

I've enjoyed Trauma Center and the three you've listed.

thats nothing...

in 5 years i expect way more consoles from the leader than 35 mil, or for each individual as a whole, i mean PS2 has 120+

R-Dot-Yung

It's a US forcast.

the more sold...the more people get ripped off. A gamecube with a new controller, jeez....SkyCastleDan

Just dumb.

EDIT: Ironic you use a Manticore in your avatar.

why do people here in SW care about execs' comments, people here in SW say more stupid and dumb comments everyday than these execs/PRs. hypocrisy ftw.xxThyLordxx

Only trolls don't criticize outright stupidity, if you haven't noticed most big threads are big because stupid comments start flame wars. Stop damage controlling, and treat the comment as what it is ****, it's unbelivable they try to spin something like this.

Ok many try to argue ps3s poor sales are due to price. i would like to disagree. ps2 didnt sell many conoles in its first year and sony is on a goal to ship just as many ps3s as it did ps2s in the same time period: the first year of each persepctive consoles life cycle. ps2 sold 95% of its 115 million base after year 1. once more games are released ps3 sales will surely pick up. by next year ps3 sales will defitnitely spike once all the big hitters will be released later this summer and fall. ps3 will take this generation by storm just like psone and ps2!

InfamousC

Your reasoning is pathetic. Anyone who bothers to analyze the current PS3 situation objectively can't deny that is f'ed. Nothing short of a miracle will save it.
