[QUOTE="Bigbowser2"]

If the big games arent coming out until next year *or late next year* then why not save them for next year?

And remember we might find out something tomorrow, last year they decided to show smash behind closed doors to press.

2good2betrue

thats the problem though. The big 3 are all coming out by the end of the year. But i sure hope your right about them showing stuff behind closed doors

I think people are complaining far too much about the conference. We are getting some killer games for the hardcore crowd, Metroid 3, Batallion Wars 2, Super Mario Galaxy, Smash Bros Brawl, Mario Strikers Charged, Resi Evil, at least you have Super Paper Mario and Trauma Center in the states, we have neither yet :(

Wii Fit is going to sell amazingly, I think it has the potential to be one of the biggest selling games of next year - no joke. The Wii Zapper doesnt look at good as last years prototype but the promo video looked awesome so I cant complain too much. Also confirmation of Mario Kart Wii so close to all the games coming out in the last half of this year - I sure feel happy to be a Nintendo gamer, why isnt everyone else?

If the big games arent coming out until next year *or late next year* then why not save them for next year?

And remember we might find out something tomorrow, last year they decided to show smash behind closed doors to press.

[QUOTE="Bigbowser2"]Not sure if this has been posted already, couldnt find the topic anywhere and I was shocked that no-one else had posted about it so I might be missing something here? If this is old news then I apolagise.

IGN UK have updated their release date list and posted a message about it, linking to the release date list on their main Wii page, claiming their new list is "Your latest, most accurate UK release dates, fresh."

The list dates games like Super Mario Galaxy at June 1st -Less than a month *which would be a friday, the day games usually get released in the UK* Metroid Prime 3 on September 27th and Smash Bros Brawl on September 30th. Many more games are dated including Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: The Crystal Bearers and Trauma Centre on July 26th. No sign of Super Paper Mario or Wii Music however.

Can anybody clarify this? I know release dates can be wrong but if they have just updated the list to include the *Latest and most accurate data* - surely they would have moved games like Mario Galaxy from incorrect release dates to TBA?

The link to the release date list is here Click Here. *may need to click UK at the top of the page to bring up the right results.
Any other opinions on this? If this is true then we are truely in for an amazing half year and starting a lot sooner than we were expecting...cobrax80

I think PS3 will takeover the market now that Europe in under the belt.  My defence-stop reading my post and start reading the analyst reports in favor of PS3 (these guys are paid to do what they do unbiased).  WII is a good attempt but it's not meant to last.  I think particularly many people are ashamed to play the WII or they don't find it enjoyable.  Notice how WII is not doing so hot in countries besides USA and Japan.  Xbox 360 will produce good games but ultimately lose to PS3 because of one reason alone-Microsoft doesn't know how to cater to the casuals.  Microsoft isn't able to grasp the gaming demographics like sony.  360s master game is GeOW.  Sony's big game is gran turismo-something that appeals to alot of people not just the hardcore.  Even now kids are playing GT4 in their dorm rooms all over America.

Good thoughts and a nice opinion, but I disagree with pratically all of it...

I work at Gamestation in the UK which gives me a very good perspetive on the market and peoples opinions, but by no means conclusive. What do I know is that the Wii has been out of stock since launch and still is, with every available console being pre-ordered. Its selling like hot cakes and with tons of amazing games coming out this year its only going to go from strengh to strengh. People come in, see it, play it, love it, preorder it. Simple As. So it clearly sells well in other countries other than USA and Japan

PS3 simply cannot cater to the casual audience with a price point of £425. It's a high expense for even hardcore gamers. Its avertisable as a very cheap blu-ray player but otherwise its hard to justify the high price point for many people, ESPECIALLY the casual audience that Sony dominated last generation, even though I know, along with many others, that the price is well justified.

Xbox360 sells very well in UK and USA, not so much in Japan but still holds a fair market share with its year head start. Many people are picking the 360 over the PS3 simply for the price difference. Also the online gaming over XBL is far superior to any other system

I couldnt guess at exactly who will win this console war in terms of sales, but i think I could have a pretty accurate guess at who I think will be dominating by the end of the year. The 360 will probably still be in the lead simply because of the massive head start and the imposing launch of Halo 3. The Halo franchise SELLS and it sells systems with that. The Wii will be close behind the 360 with the PS3 in third but I couldnt say by how much. Even though Europe; and more specifically the UK, are blaitent blind followers of the Sony Playstation brand, the price really is proving too much for a lot of people. They are losing there massive casual audience to Nintendo and its helping Nintendo out to no end.

I think its going to be a much closer race this time around, and one that should mean much better products for all of us as they all fight it out for dominance. Even though Nintendo say they are taking a "different route" and "aren't directly competing" I bet they would be more than please to let people know that *We've sold more than console X or console Y*
