It's also important to note here that external USB drives are still supported, and Xbox One and previous generation games can run off of them. Xbox Series X games can be stored on them, but they have to be moved to SSD to be played.
I didn't realize this hadn't been announced for consoles. Here's hoping they follow suit like they've done with Divinity - those games have been fantastic and I'd love to play this on the next gen!
Another thing to note is the eShop only appears to let you queue about 66 games to download at a time, even if it lets you click the button to redownload more than that. If you have a larger library like me with a high capacity card, and attempt to download the entire library in one fell swoop, you'll find that you have to download it in chunks. An odd limitation to be sure!
Great piece of insight into this now gaming legend. He's done wonderful things for Xbox, just like Iwata did for Nintendo (we miss you Iwata!). With folks like him and Iwata (let's hope we see someone like him at the helm of Nintendo in the not too distant future) running the large game companies, I have faith that our hobby and favorite entertainment industry will remain healthy and vibrant for years to come. Leaders like those at EA and Activision (and Sony with their walled garden approach to a lesser extent - though it looks like that might be changing) are the bane of a healthy industry.
Great job Laura. Maybe do a piece like this on Iwata (I hope that Japanese book about him gets an English translation)!
