You need SLi Mobo to set up 2nd GTX280, so this GIGABYTE P45 Mobo can't do...

Well 4870x2 is around 150% faster than ONE GTX280... but 4870x2 price only cost around $50 more...

Down here in oz the 4870x2 is about $250-300 more . More likely than not I'll be happy with a single gtx280 (I better be I ordered it last night :P ) until the next generation cards come out and looking at reviews around the 4870x2 only seems to be slightly ahead in benchmarks , but I'm not sure how that really equates to real world performance ... Which is why I thought I should ask the people in the know.

Hey all , I'm upgrading from a crappy old 2.8P4 , 7800gt pretty much because I want to play crysis , farcry 2 and GTA 4 . Pretty much all I'm asking is how will the following system go ?

*Intel Quad Q9550 with a Thermaltake Typhoon VX 120 cooler

*ASUS GTX280

*4GB ram @ 1066mhz

*Gigabyte EP45-DS3 Motherboard

*700w PSU

It's in a Nvidia CM-690 case , 2x640gb WD HD's , It has Vista Home Premium . It'll cost me AUS$1850 so I think it's a pretty good price but will it do what I want ?
