Alright you know what, I'm just plain angry with microsoft at this point. Ever since I got the system last august, I have always worried about the system just crapping out for no reason. It is always for no reason. I never hear someone tell me they accidently hit their system, and then it broke. My system was doing just alright for the past four months, with the occasioinal disc read errors. Normal, right? Well it damn well shouldn't be. Recently my game started to freeze with the checkered pattern as I wrote above. My system has just gone kaput for no damn reason. I don't even want another system, because I'll just have that fear every time I pop in a game.
Edit: So I guess I was really quite angry when I wrote. It's really a love hate relationship. The 360 is the most solid system out there with the best library of any system in years. I really want a new one, but I don't want to have to worry about the damn thing crashing all the time. Does anyone know if you can use your old harddrive in a new system so I can just get a core system? I know I have no warranty, so a repair will cost about as much as a core system. Eye_See
I have the exact same problem. Now my 360 doesn't even turn on. Just some red rings show up around the power button. It sucks
