i would get New Vegas, that's if your pc is great and not laggy when playing games like mineSerpenthrone

Man, I wish I could play the PC versions of Mass Effect and Fallout. I have the 360 version of those games for now.

I know that if I try to install those games, my PC would explode. I can't even run Halo 1 on the highest resolution without lag. My PC can run Halo 2 though....with all the effects turned off. Fugly.

If you can run New Vegas on your PC, get it. However, you should save often. The game is known for bugs though a patch is in thw roks.

Many older games have been re-released so they work on newer operations systems. The Diablo Battle Chest is a good example.

To answer your question though...

If there is a shortcut for the game on the desktop, right-click it.

Go to Properties.

Click on the Compatibility tab.

There will be a section labled Compatibility Mode.

Check the box to activate it.

Select which operating system you want your computer to run the game as.

This should fix your problem.

Please note that I run a 32-bit version of Windows so I do not know if this will fix the problem on a 64-bit version. It SHOULD work though.

Can you sell the box w/out the game?? :P

mike4realz

u can if people are willing to buy it

People sell just the cases, box art, or manual all the time on ebay. And people buy them. I guess there are people that collect them.

Why not just get an internal drive and put it in your new computer when you build it?C_Rule

I don't have the cash for a new PC right now, at least not if I want it as powerful as I want it to be. By "near future" I was thinking somewhere in the next two or five years from now if things turn out well.

But I need extra storage space now, plus I want to be able to carry it around with me to take it to a friend's place.

I'm running out of space on my computer. I don't plan on upgrading my computer (it's pre-built...yeah I know) since I plan on replacing it with a much more powerful gaming-oriented one in the near future so I've been looking at external hard drives.

I want to know what brands make the most reliable external hardrives. I'm looking at anywhere from 500GB to 1TB. Preferably the latter.

However, my friend Ben, who has a lot more experience with computers than I do, simply bought a laptop harddrive and put it in a case and uses that as his external. Should I do that? It does seem to be smaller than a lot of these huge bulky external hard drives I see.

Note:

1) I don't want to upgrade my current PC as I plan on replacing it in a few years. Don't have enough cash for a new PC right now.

2) I want something that is small and I can carry with me to take to a friend's place or something.

I thought it was quite hilarious when I took a look at DMC's Wikipedia page.

In big bold letters it said:

"Boycott the game!"

Right below it was a "+1"

Then below that were large letters telling fanboys to stuff it followed by "+111111."

It's gone now though. Funny while it lasted...which was about five minutes.

Never heard of it before. According to Wikipedia, it's a game published by the awesomeness that it Atlus. It's a strategy, arcade style game for one to two players. Doesn't appear to have much info on it other a summary of the gameplay.

Here's a link to an IGN review.

Dad: short temper, stubborn (too stubborn to ask for help when I need it), write very small, hate for phones

Mom: Asian traits such as the eyes and being short, love for Asian culture

both: love of Korean food

I am taking computer programming in high school this year in hopes to go to collage for programming in the gaming industry. So is it just the time limit you have to get things done that gives you the hardest time or is it all the memorizing that you have to do? Also back on topic if you can't do the programming why not try the arts and visual/design part of the gaming industry?

nathan8740

Both. There is a lot they want you to get done in a short time. There is a lot of memorizing of formulas and terms. It's very easy to get lost with all the jargon. Plus there are so many things that can go wrong when writing a program and finding out what's causing it can make you want to pull your hair out.

I took a programming class in high school that taught Java. While Java is similar to C++, there was enough different to where I couldn't adjust. All the other students caught on, but they had been messing around with C++ for a while in their spare time. Everyone in the class though was much older than me. No one was younger than 23 except me.

Before programming I thought about the art aspect of game design. I took a higher level art class in high school but got discouraged by how talented the other students were.

I could join the military and during that time decide if I want to stay in the military or try specializing in another part of game design.

Yea give it a try its always good to have back up plans for jobs. Also thank you for the info on the experinces you had while at collage going for what i want to go for.

No problem. It's always good to hear about someone's else's experience. I wish that my parents didn't get me to pick a career and go to college so soon after high school. I never had much time to do extensive research. That and I was naive and ignorant of the real world. Now, I cost my parents money.

You should read this. Happened upon it earlier today. The writer attended a different school than I did.

I liked Dragonforce before Guitar Hero 3 came out, but to be fair, they were somewhat famous before the game came out. The game just made their popularity skyrocket.

dracula_16

Same here. One of my friends got me into Dragonforce.

Then GH3 came out. Now everyone thinks they're a fan.
