Killzone review scores...

IGN 7.5

GS 6.9

GI 7.5

EGM 7.5

OPM 4/5 80%

----------------------

Now lets talk about how the first Killzone was deemed the Halo killer, and was given plenty of dev time to be so. The game is released to luke-warm or lackluster reviews. I own the game and it blows. I could not stomach the game to even get past the first level. The gameplay is terrible, the graphics are okay, but too gray or dark.

Now on to Killzone 2. Killzone 2 has been in development for a long time now, just like the first Killzone. The game is being hyped to death just like the first Killzone. The developers aren't too great at developing AAA games like they would have you believe. So why is Sony fan creaming over such a average series ?

I will also add into this that Guerilla Games (dev of Killzone 1 & 2) is based in Amsterdamn. They are probably high most of the time in dev, which in turn makes them not able to focus to their full potential. They also created the very terrible Shellshock Nam '67 game. The developer has only created two games for consoles and are still very new to creating games on consoles. Killzone 2 will be their third.

With Killzone 2 on new hardware like the PS3 which is hard for devs to make games for, and Guerilla Games pretty much a n00blet Developers it's pretty simple and easy to say that the game has a high chance of bombinglike all the rest of the mess they have put out on consoles.

Brawl is going to be at EVO 2008.

Brawl and Melee are recognized at SRK.

Melee and Brawl are recognized world wide in Fighting game circles and communities.

Whatever its intended creation was the end result was that it has been openingly accepted and recognized as a game in the Fighting genre by the Fighting community.

The Fighting Community is a very small and niche Hardcore Community. And its not just throwing things around for the sake of doing so.

I haven't seen or heard of any fighting game circle/community that doesn't recognize Smash as a Fighter.

Blackbond

Well it looks like they are going to have to pull Smash from the tourney this year.

I can't say I hate Nintendo, but I don't like them like I know I did back when I was younger. I didn't praise them either when I was younger. I have all Nintendo consoles except the Wii and GC(used to own one). NES was a pretty cool console, I still play the old school Mario, Ninja Gaiden and TMNT games on it every once in a while. I own my SNES which is probably up their in the top three consoles ever for me, and I still own my N64 which was a great console. Though through all of my Nintendo consoles I owned back in the day, I owned a Sega Genesis, a PS1 after my N64. I used to think the PS1 was for RPG nerds and RPGS were odd.

I then borrowed a friends PS1 and MGS1(stealth game) and was hooked. I probably borrowed and beat the game 10x in Junior High. I was then hooked on PS1 and bought one and loved every second of it, eventhe RPGs which are one of my favorite genre's now that Nintendo lacks in. I then bought the XboX, then the PS2 and then GC. I bought a 360 a year ago, and am buying a PS3 in a few months.

I just don't see the draw for the Wii for any hardcore gamers like us who sit here on a message board and discuss games. Ye, the Wii still has the hardcore Nintendo titles and that's cool, but it has almost zero great 3rd party titles. It has a few, but close to none and it's sad. I don't like the controls. They were cool for Mario Kart Wii. I loved that game BTW, because I haden't played the series since the N64 days and it took me down memory lane. MKwii very fun game. Like I was saying though, the controls just feel tacked on like a gimmick, but whatever floats your boat.

I just feel the way Nintendo is going is just not for me, and I want to see if anybody else feels the same.

Discuss.

I supported Nintendo for 3 of their five gens, but the last two gens have been so terrible that I jumped ship. The Gamecube wasn't bad, but it wasn't good either, and the Wii is just flat out gastly to me. The Wii is the first gaming console I absolutely despise and will never buy. This maXe me sad so much that I wont buy the neXt Nintendo console.

Do you still support the Nintendo ?

Shinobishyguy

what games did you play for it? "if you even played any"

I have played Brawl, Galaxy (didn't like too much or at all), Mario Kart Wii and I think that's it. I really want to play Twilight Princess though, because I haven't played a LoZ game all the way throughsince the masterpiece that is Majoras Mask.

[QUOTE="darkspineslayer"]sounds to me like he was describing a party game, and thats what it is, a non-traditional fighter/party gameLionheart08

Basically what most pegged it as to begin with.

The creator claims it to not be a fighting game and then you guys go ahead and label it a non-traditional fighter/party game.

Jesus Christ, the game is not a fighter in any way, shape, or form. The game is not a fighting game or non-traditional fighting game. SSB series is a sports series ment to be played in a small gathering of friends. Hell, I take it back from posts before. SSBB is not a party game. You take this game and your Wii to a legit party and you're getting jacked or no action at all.

WWE games are considered SPORTS games...

I didn't know SSB games were WWE games. I seriously can't see SSB games as sports games. There are more to the fighting genre side then the sports genre.

How can WWE games not be Fighting games? Yes, they aren't traditional fighting games but really they are more in the Fighting Genre than the Sports Genre.

Well, the WWE games have a lot more in common with FIGHTING Games than Sports games, yet they are labeled sports.

My point is, SSB is seen in that categoy by those in the Know (Id Est, the Creator of the entire series.)

First off SSB games are very different from WWE games, plus TBH SSB games are more of a crossover, being a fighting/beat em up game. Second the reason why WWE goes into sports games is that WWE was made into a sport, unlike SSB.

Isn't SSBB a sport instead of a fighter. Why do you continue to go against the grain of the Creator ? Did you create the game ?

The Sheep like to think they created the game tbqh imo. The words of the director mean absolutely nothing to the word of a sheep.

bobbetybob

naturally, you would know, being one.

How sweet another disillusioned Nintendo fanboy crying the bitter sweet tears of painful bliss over the now fact that SSBB is not a fighting game.

SO nice !

Do you know what I don't understand, why should we care it's not a fighter? It's not like it's going to stop me playing it because the "creator" (oh yeah you actually got any proof of that article? Link?) said it's not a fighter it's more like a sport. I don't care, last time I checked Sumo Wrestling, Kick Boxing, Judo and Karate were all sports, even if you don't kick people like a ball out the ring, you do that in most modern fighting games anyway, Ring Outs I believe they are called.... So what if it's not a fighting game, come back to me when PS3 or 360 get a 9.5 rated fighter/sports game.

You don't need a link to a Nintendo Power interview. You also don't need me to post any proof seeing that it's plausible that such a sheep as yourself already gets Nintendo Power in the mail.

SO nice !
