but consedering we speak abuot the fat models the chance it still has warranty is not very high , you'd still have to pay regardless if you open it or notto the guy above me ^^
in a word NO
because on order to open a PS3 you have to break a warranty sticker and one that's done that's it you void the warranty and sony will give you nothing
on a separate note iv'e had my PS3 for about 5 years and had no problems what so ever so here's hoping

I'm wanting to purchase a gaming console. Which one should i go for out of the ps3, 360 or wii? . . . Ill prefer the conventional handheld controllers and not the move/kinect stuff. Also a great selection of good quality games is preferable. I already have a 32inch led bravia. Btw i live in India Thanks!kritin_Kapoorgo to the store and try each , if youre still not sure then buy the two you like most , in case you still cant decide then get all of them
if someone still has a credit card numbersaved on psn after all what heppened recently its his own fault for being trapped :D

i have two of the old models 40 and 80 and they work fine , there is always risk that something breaks , its the same like these "[insert popular game] didbreak my ps3" threads , but in fact the console just broke while playing the game not because playing it
when im home i use my technics turntables because of the superior sound quality of vinyl and its also fun to mix and scratch during the listening, otherwise i listen my mp3 player with digitalized songs from my records
but those were nuclear bombs , the radiation lasts for hundrets of years , what would you expect them to rebuild a futuristic DC inside of a radioactive waste ? i liked FO3 much more , but i thinks its very subjective , some hate the new games and like the oldFallout NV is sooooo much better than Fallout 3, it isn't even close. Fallout NV actually made somewhat sense in how the story progressed and you actually had choices to change the story. Fallout 3 had a crappy story, and for some reason, after several hundred years after the bombs dropped, everything is still like the bombs dropped 20 years ago. In New Vegas, there's more weapons, better quests, actual different factions that you can be a part of and more.
