I believe this article (though it's obviously just a writer's opinion) is juvenile, poorly researched, and irresponsible. What's even more disturbing, is that an Editor-In-Chief allowed it to be published. Though the free games, PSN Plus subscription time, movies, etc... Do not provide adequate reimbursement for identity theft, it's important to note that identity theft has not yet occurred. Further more, PSN does not store social security numbers or the CCV numbers on the back of credit cards. Should someone make an attempt to steal someone's identity, Sony did a good job of informing us on how to prevent such an occurrence, and will pay for us to get our reports to see if there are any issues. This has happened countless times with several large corporations who conduct business via the internet. The one thing different here, is that SCE responded quickly, and though restoration didn't come swiftly, the time was used to learn from how this happened and to ensure this doesn't happen again. The program is called "Customer Appreciation" and not "Consumer Compensation". They're apologizing for downtime and giving us something for our inconvenience during that downtime. When it comes to identity theft, they have educated us on how to prevent it, and will pay if we need a report. I see nothing wrong with how SCE responded to this crisis.

Those of you mentioning your Fat PS3's are loud due to fan noise should know, that is a symptom of thinning thermal paste. This is the leading cause for YLoD. I recommend taking those loud PS3s and having a professional change the thermal paste to prevent YLoD. I did this with my fatty, and that baby is just as quiet as my slim. Anyways, I hope this comment helps any who come across it.

I have already stopped coming to this web site for it's reviews, since realizing some games were getting ridiculously high ratings compared to the rest of the internet. This was a sign for me that Gamespot is simply not an honest web site, has a lot of "under-the-table" deals going on. Now, I think I'll just stop visiting this site altogether, since it's articles are taking the same course. Even the readers are commenting that Gamespot is being less than honest here. I agree. Firstly, the games presented are all 3rd party games. The only thing comparable in this method is how easily the games port between both systems' development kits. The ONLY way you can graphically compare two systems is either by a tech demo from both console manufacturers OR compare first party titles. The specs for both systems are available with a simple Google search. Gamespot, if you are being paid to for this article, I suggest you start making it clear it's an advertisement endorsed by Microsoft. At this point, after several years of being on this site, I'm finally fed up with the lies. I'm sure others will find there are better places on the internet to get their gaming news and have it remain honest and free as well. In closing, (and my long overdue farewell to this community), I would like to make it clear that I don't care for graphics. I care about games and the fun they bring. But, when looking for gaming news, I look for it to be in depth and honest. Goodbye.

Hmmm... What about Metal Gear Solid Essential Collection. Only $30 and you get 5 metal gear games (if you include the two great 8-bit games included in "MGS3")??? I'm surprised that MGS4 wins Game of the Year and all of it's previous versions at only $30 doesn't get a mention.

I'm sorry, but I really don't see a difference. If there is one, it's so small that it really doesn't make a difference. Framerate comparisons, and hardware durability is probably a better place to pit these two consoles against each other (in my opinion).

I'm happy with my PSP2000. But, I definitely appreciate Sony continuing to upgrade and make improvements. Right now, the differences are too small for me to shell out another $170. However, After another generation or two, I may bite again. I would definitely like to see an improvement in the library though. There just arn't enough quality games for the PSP right now.

This article is pretty ridiculous. How about this as a better solution? ... I won't say exactly where (cause I don't want them getting in trouble with Sony), but how about you start searching for an adaptor that allows you to use an IDE or SATA drive. The adaptor goes into the hard drive slot, but replaces the bay door with a port to plug in one of these drives. Why is this a better solution? Well, you can get a 7200 RPM drive to INCREASE THE SPEED at the same rate in this article. You're also not putting the hard drive inside the console so basically you generate ZERO HEAT. Also, I just purchased a 500 GB IDE Hard drive for only $109.00!!! Hope this helps some of you who were disappointed by this article :)

LOL!!! Right on Stefanovicho!!! Really, I just don't see THAT big of a difference between the two. I'm a PS3 owner because the Xbox 360 is unreliable for people who play for extended amounts of time. I also don't feel I should have to pay for online access, and was also in the market for a BluRay player. I also own a PSP and enjoy the features I get out of my PSP now that I have a PS3 at home. Each system has it's pluses and minuses. It's really all about what the individual is looking for, and of course, what you can afford. But really guys... Did you have a hole installed in your systems and called it your girlfriend or something? What's with this defensive attitude? Stop fighting and give facts you know about your systems that make them better or worse... In the end, this article will be here to help those who aren't "Next Gen" yet to decide what to buy. Let's help them out with facts and not name calling.
