Here's the many things Gamespot gets wrong with this **** article. In the beginning (with 1960's Night of the Living Dead), "Ghouls ate ANYTHING living...not brains. Secondly, they weren't called zombies either, the whole brains thing came in the "Return of the Living Dead" franchise which absolutely failed. The zombies were supposed to be limping because, as everyone knows, rigor mortis sets in quite nicely after you're dead...so it's hard to run when you're bones are locked in place, THIS was Romero's trademark. And also, if there are old school zombie fans like me, the reason why Night of the Living Dead (at least the 1990 remake) is still the fan favorite is because it had something NO OTHER zombie movie had (maybe the Land of the Dead, but not by much)...Tom Savini's make up. The fact that Living Dead is one of the best zombie movies is not because zombies were fast, of course not, they were slow (which was mentioned a lot in the movie), the fact that zombies were ugly as fsck is why it's always been a fan favorite. Danny Boyle didn't start the running "zombie" trend, he didn't even use zombies...people just kept misunderstanding the concept between Zombies and Rage. The running zombies first started in the "Return" franchise...which sucked. Then Zack Snyder came along and prostituted Dawn of the Dead by making zombies run (and showing random sex scenes)...and movie-goers, oblivious of the movie zombie history, thought this was a brand new thing...thus it became a trend that it is now.
