I'm trying to make the ideal setup for gaming. My 5.1 speaker system is working perfectly fine. It's the sound card's settings I'm having trouble with.

Currently, I'm trying to get the best ideal setup for games like BioShock, that use a ton of surround sound and atmoshperic effects.

My current settings from console:

Speakers - 5.1

EAX Effects - Enabled, 0.00dB, set on Theatre (other options include Ampitheater, Jazz Club, Stone Hall, etc.)

CMSS-3D - Enabled, Stero Xpand, 100% slid to Stereo

Crystalizer - Enabled, 65%

Are these settings good? It doesn't sound quite good when I play games and music.

Looking for a clan for one or all of the following:

- Battlefield 2

- unreal tourny 3

- crysis

- call of duty 4

For the record, you haven't really played HL2 if you've played it on Xbox. The PC version is MUCH better, so dont judge HL2 until you play it on the PC. tbh, consoles are just a cheap way of getting good graphics. real gaming is on the PC, better graphics, and framerates consoles can only hope and dream for. hands down.

I find Halo fun, but its still basically an average run-n-gun FPS, and multiplayer is like a slightly toned-down version on Unreal Tournament.

Im sure this has been asked countless times before, but which franchise do you prefer? too bad i cant make a poll, so you guys just have to post your opinions.

Half-Life (1 and 2) really introduced physics and interactive gameplay into the worl. Half-Life 2 set the bar for graphics when it came out and really showed the world a new style of physics gameplay and "playable" storytelling.

Halo introduced people that games can have goos stories too, and that run-n-gun can work in really good ways.

Sorry 360 fanboys, I have played both halos thus far (and pre-ordered H3), but i'm gonna have to go with HL, because it has better graphics, to me, better gameplay (run-n-gun is lame after a while), and it really showed me in-game physics for the first time. I just finf Half-Life games much better over the over-hyped Halo games.

Wonder who you will play. If its just Americans, that wil be extremely stupid, considering the Americans didnt start in WW1 until the very end. I'd really like to play as British, French, and Canadian. Vimy Ridge or Somme would be a good place in this game. Or maybe you can be a German, i dunno. Or maybe the lesser-known Eastern Front as a Russian? I just hope this game is authentic and not some Call of Duty knockoff. Trench warfare was all that was their, with occasional planes, tanks, and ur friendly-old mustard gas, so if the developers make you infilitrate enemy lines and play an enemy soldier (like MoH AA) that will piss me off. Stick to the trenches plz developers. Dont make this some crappy WW1 action game. Make it a WW1 combat sim instead.

Don't forget to include the assassination of Archduke franz ferdinand.
