Bioware doesn't HAVE to change the ending, but they better not complain when I say I hate their writing more than yeast hates vaginas. A lazy, less than 10 minute long cut scene with no real denouement is not how you end a 5 year long series in which people have invested hundreds of hours. That's not an ending.

@liam72 I was never saying being out of the closet wasn't a choice, (although now that I think about it, for some people it's not, like effeminate gay men) my point was that being GAY is not a choice. Sure, someone from Uganda has a choice to not come out, and tbh it would be the right one. But my point was that while they aren't out of the closet, they're still gay because they were born that way. I know being out of the closet is not always an option for people, trust me. Again, people don't chose to be gay that was my main point.

@liam72 and telling people to feel ashamed for being gay and to stay closeted is how we get these after mentioned anti gay senators getting caught in gay sex scandals. Being closeted is extremely damaging in the long term, so I don't see how it doesn't apply. Telling a gay person to stay closeted is cruel and not a realistic choice.

@Ninbri64 So you acknowledge that people are killed for being gay and yet assume it's a choice? Why would anyone choose to be gay when in some places in the world it puts their very lives in danger? And at the least in most other places it subjects them to ridicule and hatred. It makes no sense that someone would willingly subject themselves to that if they always had the option to just be "normal". If it's a choice, it makes no sense that we have the sons and daughters of the rightest of right wing pastors in the bible belt who come out of the closet. It makes no sense that we have conservative politicians and public figures getting caught in gay sex scandals. Why would they choose that if they have an equal choice to like the opposite sex?

@iulitheman I don't think Bioware's goal is to make homophobes accept gays. Their goal is to make their fans happy by giving them as many options as possible. Obviously not everyone is gay but in Dragon age for example, I don't see why having all of the romance options available to both sex's was such a huge deal. Is it that big of a problem for you to imagine the fact that the character you romanced is being romanced by another player of the same gender? Which has zero impact on your experience or your game? Which you will never actually know about? In their game, maybe Merill was gay and in someone else's she was straight. It's subjective to each player.

Not sure why this is a problem or so many people. Did you actually see the new scene in question? The game gave you three (THREE) options to get out of the romance, in a row. A freakin' row. Are people so amazingly offended by the idea that someone of the same gender might be attracted to them that it bothers them so much even in a video game? To that I have to say grow up and get over it. If you aren't interested, then the game gives you a million ways to get out and stay out (no pun intended).

I'm actually quite happy you made this article Gamespot. I had no idea this was happening, since I avoid Reddit like the plague that it is, but I am a long time Bioware fan and this is downright stupid. If anything is "ruining" society as we know it, it's not video games, pron or violent movies. It's this sense of entitlement a lot of people seem to have, and carry over to other parts of their life outside of the internet/gaming community. Everyone who talked crap about that woman deserves a nice kick in the pee pee.

Ugh. Who cares. The differences are so small it hardly even matters. PS3 always appears to be a bit "softer" than the 360, which on some cases is better and in some cases is worse. As far as graphics go I would say they're neck and neck. Why is it such a big deal anyway?
