@Zeeksie @Ether101 I said the originals didn't take themselves seriously. I don't know how you can misread that. That is why they were satirical of the action and anime genres. They took a tongue in cheek approach to the over the top action and the machismo in action titles.

@excludedkratos @AFreeby @Earl-of-Death You're free to like the story, but it completely missed the point of what DMC was supposed to be. A video game equivalent to Army of Darkness. A satirical look at machismo and action. The original stories were much smarter because they were tongue in cheek and subversive. The new DmC was just trying to be badass and serious like every other generic game that comes out now a days. It had zero originality.

@TheEveryMan It was a poor mans action game, and the plot was horrendous. At least the originals knew not to take themselves seriously, and were essentially satires of action films and animes.

@excludedkratos @AFreeby @Earl-of-Death They can bring back the combat, but NT has a bad record with action games in general, so I don't see that as likely. And to the more important issue, the story and characters were just poor, imo. The original was an action tongue in cheek satire, which did not need to be changed. The characters just aren't likable in DmC.

I'll just say this, Capcom has made most of my favorite games ever, but they completely spit on Megaman, and have tarnished both Resident Evil and Devil May Cry. They deserve their misfortune. I would like to see them turn it around, but I think that is unlikely.

@excludedkratos @Earl-of-Death I don't mind if you liked the game. That's cool, but it was technically inferior to what came before it. That cannot be argued, but I'll leave it at that since you don't seem to want to discuss.

@excludedkratos @AFreeby @Earl-of-Death Than you should know that they took out frame based moves, the majority of jump cancels, timing bsed combo finishers, and added color based enemies. This is ignoring the massive amount of glitches.
