From my experience I'll say Demon's/Dark Souls, Shadow of the Colossus, Red Dead Redemption, BioShock, Mass Effect 1/2, Silent Hill 2/3, Resident Evil 4, L.A. Noire (Hell, every single Rockstar game), Hitman series, etc

I really felt immersed in their respective worlds

I'm a veteran when it comes to Hack'n'slash genre. I beat all the main titles from this genre (DMC1,2,3,4; Bayonetta; GoW1,2,3,CoO; NGS1,2; Genji; Onimusha; etc, you name it) and I still loved Heavenly Sword. Theres more then gameplay to it, wich isnt as bad as you make it sound
