I have to agree with you there Sonic Adventure was a top game miles better than Sonic Heroes. I play Sonic games to go as Sonic and get a thrill with the speed of Sonic not to play as other characters. I hated the Sonic Heroes game the story was awful. It didn't feel like a Sonic game not at all to me.chocolate1325
Sonic Heroes was faster, and had longer stages. And Sonic games have never been known for an impressive story. The gameplay is what makes most Sonic games so good. Remember, these are games, not movies. If you like good stories, you should play RPGs, read books, or watch movies.

As far as I know, Sonic Heroes was Sonic's "Galaxy", combining old and new in one of the most beautiful ways possible.

While I respect your opinon, I have to disagree with that. Why should I be forced to play with Knuckles and Talis when I only want Sonic? Why is the camera so clunky? The closest Sonic game to your "Galaxy" would be the original Sonic Adventure on DreamCast.

Well, we all have our own views on this. But seriously, Tails and Knuckles were forced upon you in other Sonic games like SA and SA2. The difference here is that in Sonic Heroes you stick to Sonic-style gameplay throughout. Whereas in SA and SA2 (mainly in SA2 for Tails) playing as the other characters forced entire stages on you that featured non-sonic gameplay (like shooting and treasure collecting) Now, those gameplay styles are okay, but to put them in a Sonic game and force them upon you isn't right. In Sonic Heroes, you didn't have to spend entire stages as Tails and Knuckles, shooting things, and looking for stuff while moving slowly. Instead, you move swiftly, taking advantage of various gimmicks for a short while. But switching back to Sonic, who is fastest, is quite easy to do once you've overcome an obstacle that requirs a power or flight character.
And about the camera, I think it depends on your gameplay style. Let's face the facts: Sonic games' cameras have never been the most exploration-friendly. But I find Sonic Adventure's camera to be the worst because it freaks out on me every now and then, even when I'm going through stages normally. (moving forward, rarely turning back to explore or sight-see) In SA2 and Sonic Heroes, I have way less camera trouble while proceeding normally through a stage.

But to be on topic, Sonic has fared much better than last year. Sonic RUsh Adventure was the peak of his games, IMO. It featured refined sidescrolling Sonic action over WiFi. Now THAT is something I've waited a while to see. I want that for the Wii as well. Let's hope for another good year for Sonic.

If you like sidescrolling platformers, I highly reccomend Sonic Rush Adventure.

Yeah, in SA, they did that. In SA2, they still did that, but not as badly, and in SH, they hardly forced non-Sonic-style gameplay on us at all.

They rush it out to meet the deadline instead of push it back.

It's ironic how the games that bear the title "Sonic Rush" actually are more polished and overall superior.

I'd love to play that game. I'll get the one on the Wii someday.

Nice sig, Spikey. People need to hear that, these days.
