[QUOTE="super_mario_128"]Top four 360 exclusives:Sorry:
4 AAA's = 90 - 95 % overall
1 AAAA = 100%
100% > 90 - 95%
Sooshy
Halo 3 = 9.5
GRAW = 9.2
PDZ = 9.0
Forza 2 = 9.2
Average that and you get about 92% or so?
Top four PS3 exclusives:
MGS4: 10
Resistance: 8.6
Tekken 5: 8.3
Uncharted 8.0
Average: 87%?
92% > 87%.
Based on Gamespot Scores - MGS4: 100% > 92.25% [(95% + 92% + 90% + 92%) / 4]
That would be the statistical proof that you would need to support that one AAAAE (MGS4) beats the four AAAE that you mentioned in your support.
Here's what you should have said:
In a TRUE comparison between the top 4 exclusives for the Xbox 360 and PS3 (based on metacritic aggregate scoring) it would actually look like this:
Xbox 360*:
- Halo 3: 94
- Forza Motorsport 2: 90
- Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter: 90
- Project Gotham Racing 3: 85
Average: 89.75%
* You can't add Gears of War to this list because it is not exclusive to the Xbox 360 console, neither is Bioshock nor Mass Effect.
PS3:
- Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots: 94
- Ratchet & Clank Future: Tools of Destruction: 89
- Uncharted: Drake's Fortune: 88
- Resistance: Fall of Man: 86
Average: 81.75%
This would have been a much smarter argument for superiority of the Xbox 360's library to date. However, given the year gap between launches, I really don't think that this gap will exist much longer nor do I feel that it's significant. And, one could argue that in no way has MGS4 been properly rated by those who gave it less than a 95. But that's a matter of opinion and not statistical fact.
In the end this tread is just damage control. You say: "Why do you say it's damage control?" I say this for several reasons:
- You are posting this as a response to gamers across the country being captivated by MGS4.
- You feel that people shouldn't feel that MGS4 makes the PS3 better than the Xbox 360 (when that's just opinion).
- You have ignored facts and instead presented your opinions as counter argument.
Thanks for your time and effort. However, your DC skills are lacking.
Edit: Forgot the grammar check.
