Prince of Persia one of the first games that i played that i realy realy hated as it took me an age to master and even then i would give it dirty evil looks when it ended up giving me the game over screen. Having said that i still realy enjoyed playing it but if i was having a bad day and i did not do well...LOL lets just say it was not a good day to be a gamepad at all.

Prince of Persia is a platform style of game and unlike most other games of its type it did not have you jump on your enemys heads or shoot them with doom weapons of super power nope this games combat was based on swords. There was also another side to this game as it was also a sort of puzzle game due to its evil traps and layout...one mistep could spell the end of your game which in a way is good as that would or should i say should make you a better gamer.

Not only was the combat differant but the way that the game was made was also differant. Prince of Persia originally developed by Jordan Mechner. Mechner used a process called rotoscoping, in which he studied many hours of film of his younger brother David running and jumping in white clothes, to ensure that all the movements looked just right. So in alot of ways it sort of looked like a real person rather than a computer avatar.

The seting and story for Prince of Persia is a simple one set in Ancient Persia. The Sultan went to wage war in a foreign land, and his vizier, Jaffar, is left to rule in his stead. Jaffar locks the nameless protagonist up because the Princess, Jaffar's love interest, has taken an interest in him. Jaffar then locks up the Princess herself, giving her an ultimatum; marry Jaffar, or die within the hour.

The Prince of Persia first came out on October 3, 1989 for the Apple II. It has also come out on differant platforms over the years these range from:

MS-DOS, Amiga, Amstrad CPC, GB, GBC, NES, Atari ST, ZX Spectrum, Mac OS, SNES, Sega CD, Genesis/Mega Drive, TurboGrafx-CD, Xbox 360 (XBLA), PSN

This game is a classic and if you have yet to play it then i say you should (after you have read this) go out and buy a copy of this game. It is fun and will make you better at gaming mark my words....

Or have you pulling your hair out either way you know what to do :).
