Prince of Persia is a platforming game and commonly thought of as one of the greatest games in its era, if not of all time. The game has you navigating a dungeon maze on a timer to save the princess. It features harrowing jumps and sword fights while you lose yourself and find yourself in the winding levels. However, its most notable feature is probably the realistic animation of the hero, which was the best animation for a video game at the time I believe.
I played this game a bit as a very young child, and I wasn't sure what to do or where to go. However, coming back to it when I was older I really gained a real appreciation for the game. The animation is absolutely superb, even to this day it holds up as realistic and helps immerse the player into the gritty game. I like the relatively minimalist approach as well. While it may be difficult for a kid to pick up, as an adult I appreciate the lack of a direction, leaving you to really explore and find your way through the traps, pits, and enemies. The Sega Master System version isn't the best version of the game out there, but it is solid overall and, for the console, really a must have.
