well designed "tetris-type game, but the fast paced gameplay may put you off.
The best thing about Poker Smash is that there's more strategy to it than most Tetris type games. You can go for "easy" to form poker hands like a "4 of a kind" or you can try to create a "full house" for more points, etc. The thing is -- the game moves pretty fast. You can earn the ability to use slow-motion but you dont have a lot of that powerup. So, you'll be playing most of the game at a fast speed and that makes forming high point hands pretty difficult indeed. This is bound to frustrate some players looking for a game that is not frantic.
It is a fun game but there's too many instances where my biggest hand happened completely randomly without me planning it to happen. That's not a good sign in a game that is supposed to encourage me to use strategy.
The graphics are quite nice for such a small game and the choice of multiple themed boards is a nice touch. The music themes are unfortunately terrible -- I turned the music off. There's a demo to try the game out and its worth checking that out first before you buy.
