This is the best handheld-specific game ever made. Better than the originals.

In spite the positive reviews out there for Ruby/Sapphire, Fire/Leaf, and Diamond/Pearl the hardcore Pokemon crowd as well as those that were around for Red/Blue and Gold/Silver will tell you that generation 2 was the best generation and will often times have stories to tell you about those awesome times. Gold/Silver and Crystal WERE the best games specifically made for a handheld... until now. Unlike Fire Red and Leaf Green which were so butchered that most veteran players skipped Diamond/Pearl out of pure anger (I'm just now playing through Platinum as a matter of fact) these games are both true to the originals AND add a TON of new goodies both subtle and not-so subtle. Almost every quest has been slightly modified and the story has been enhanced with the legendary birds Ho-oh and Lugia now a major part of it. There are new regions added and there's a guaranteed triple-dose (quadruple if you ever had a Pikachu 2) of nostalgia in here in addition to all that every city and location now has a distinct look and feel to it. I can't really say a whole lot more about this game without spoiling anything, but coming from somebody who was a Pokemon master ten years ago going all the way back to Red/Blue and later Gold/Silver and then the disappointments that was generation 3, I will tell you that GameFreak learned from their mistakes on Fire/Leaf and they have made the best games in the series. Definitely worthy of a perfect 10. BUY THESE GAMES.
