I'm writing this Review as if it is my first Pokemon game
Pokemon started with Red & Green for the Gameboy Color, well my first and only GBC games are Pokemon Blue and Yellow, which are basically the same. Well the next 2 pokemon games are Gold and Silver two same games again but each have different Pokemon to catch, this was like one of the best games because it had day/night and time and brand new Pokemon to catch. Then came Crystal... another version of Gold with the Pokemon having animation when you go into battle. Ruby and Sapphire, more new Pokemon... it didn't have day/night, it did have time which said AM or PM but it didn't get dark... Fire Red and Leaf Green, remakes of Red and Green for the GBA. And now... Emerald which is like Ruby, with the same thing crystal has whe n you go in battle and the Battle Frontier!

You're a kid who wants to follow your das footstep to become a strong Pokemon trainer, to prve you're good you have to beat GYM leaders and go into the Eilte Four and finish them off. Gameplay 9/10
Its an RPG so you go in battle and choose an attack or use items or berries (bascially the same as item in battle). There are elements, each type has a weakness or more than 1 weakness. Like the common Water beats fire. You have Hit Points, if your Pokemon runs out of HP, that pokemon faints. They also have PP(get use to saying that w/out laughing little kids), one attack has a number of PP, if it runs out you can't use that attck. the battles are used strategicly, so there are different ways to win...
Out of battle you walk/run around talking to people and signs and pokeballs which contain items.
Once you beat the Elite Four you go into the battle frontier! Like an amusment park where you battle in different places to get Battle Points, with battle points you can but attacks and all that. And if you beat a certain place a number of times you gain symbols.
Graphics 9/10
The graphics are good for the GBA but there are lots of GBA games with better graphics.
Sound 7/10
Well the sound effects are ok, like when you use a water attack you hear the water but i don't like the Music.
Value 10/10
You're getting a game which will last a LONG time. There is plenty to do after you beat the Elite Four (which i beat within 16 hours); catch all the Pokemon, earn all the Symbols in the Battle Frointer, train all your Pokemon whcih can take a LONG while.
