Amazing Pokemon game, bad remake.

Before I get flamed, let me say this really is an awesome game. This and its Soul Silver counterpart are both really fun Pokemon games. But being a remake of the classic Gold and Silver versions it kind of disappointed me, but only because I'm an old school Pokemon fan.

The graphics are nice, but I don't like the way the grass looks so bright and neon (leaning on the turquoise side), I preferred the original autumn/mellow look that Gold and Silver had.

The music was good, but many tracks were really ruined compared to the classic 8-bit beeping tracks, they just changed too much of the original music we had loved. I'm not asking for old-school beeps, just keep it similar to its roots.

The gameplay is solid Pokemon fun but some of the events in the game make me really wonder what were they thinking when they did that. Like you can't get the legendary Ho-Oh or Lugia until you have all 8 badges, which is annoying because before you could get them shortly after the 7th badge, meaning you had a good amount of time to chill with your game's mascot Pokemon. Also they ruined Red (the dude at Mt. Silver), they took out his Espeon and took out Rest from his Snorlax which was a nostalgic bit that has stayed with me for 8 years.

Eh maybe I am just being a picky loser, and if you aren't a Pokemon player you won't get what I mean ... but whatever this game is still awesome. I just think it lost all the nostalgic charm the originals had.
