It's another Pokemon game, just as you love, but better!

I may not have the Pokémon heavy background as others, but I have always been well aware of what Pokémon entails, from the video games, card games, and anime. I have watched a share of the anime back in its early days. And I've even tried my hand a couple past Pokémon games, primarily Pokémon Emerald (GBA) and Pokémon Platinum (DS). However, none of the games ever drew me in or kept me playing for any decent amount of time.

Well, after a renewed interest in Pokémon from the checking out the Pokedex 3D on my 3DS, I decided to give the series just one more try, and boy am I glad I did.

I have to say from my limited experience with the past games, I certainly felt like this rendition was fresh and more interesting. The story seemed to have more mystery and intrigue to it and I honestly wanted to know what was going on and how it was going to play out.

Hordes of all new Pokémon are present to keep you surprised throughout the game. It was nice to encounter all new Pokémon and a new region that really felt far away and separated from all the past regions and Pokémon. The game really has the, it's the same but all new feel, and that really appealed to me.

I was very satisfied with the game and knew that I would be able to keep playing to try to fill the rest of my pokedex after completing the main story. But I never expected the amount of content that arose after completing the main story line.

Warning for spoilers. So, after completing the main game, I was all set to try and complete my pokedex, but suddenly I was surprised by not only the new quests and new sections of the region that I could explore, but to learn that now I would be able to catch old Pokémon too! I was blown away. I admit that while I liked the idea of all new Pokémon, I was a little saddened that I wouldn't cross any old favorites in my journey. And no that thought was mute, and I have an enormous pokedex ahead of me.

So, I know I will have to make use of trading with other players to help complete my game. But I will also make use of the special Dream World that is part of the Pokémon Global Link website. While the interface and mini games in the Dream World feel quite childish, they are simple enough to be able to quickly log on to be able to find a new Pokémon in the Dream World that can then be transferred into your actual Pokémon game.

I've played for over 100 hours and currently see no end in sight for play time. I am highly impressed with the new yet familiar feeling the game gave off, the interesting story, and of course the awesome amount of content in the game.

So, I will continue my journey and catch more Pokémon than I can dream of. And I am now just delving into the array of multi-play options with battles and trades to keep me playing for quite some time to come.
