They said that this game would innovate the way we play Pokemon. Is it all true, though?...

There were some good things about this game. Unfortunately, you're out of luck if you don't own a DS (or Lite) or either Diamond and/or Pearl. Since I have that game, I'm in good hands. There are rental pokemon but they're not good at all. Some of them are either second evolutions or first evolutions. Pokemon like Monferno, Farfetch'd and Charmeleon. There is no story mode like Colosseum or XD. Instead, it's pure battles. The cool thing is that you are not required to use those rental pokemon since you can transfer from DS to Wii and use YOUR pokemon from YOUR Diamond and/or Pearl games. On that part, the game wins. You can also customize a character and a card with a title like Promising Trainer, Rookie, etc. When I say customize, I don't mean hair, body shape or anything like that. I mean they provide you with characters and all you can change is the skin color and clothing. It's kind of funny to see a big man wear an Electivire costume. Also weird to see a little boy wear a Groudon costume and another male with a Lucario costume. It's just some of the stuff you can buy with your BP (Battle Points) that you earn after battling trainers. At least the game is playable online so that's very fortunate for online gamers. You don't need friend codes but for better gameplay, it's recommended. Why? because when you have high-level pokemon, they get reduced to Level 50 and that was a turn-off and the Diamond and Pearl games had that problem too. There is also DS Battle and although it's not really necessary, it's fun to see your pokemon on TV. This game had a lot of potential and it's just unfortunate that it wasn't as good as it should have when it comes to single player. Both Pokemon Stadiums for the Nintendo 64 were better than this because at least you were able to battle gym leaders and the Elite Four
