Kairosoft has been making great mobile strategysim games, and PLS is another classic!

If you played another Kairosoft game, there is a familiar feel to the game. You are building a team to compete in league and tournament play. You start with some average guys, a coach, a modest facility and some cash, and try to build your team to a championship contender.

The game is 2 basic parts. Building and soccer sim. The building part has about 5 resources to gather, buildings to upgrade, players to hirefiretrain. Players gain experience and levels over time, increasing their skills. Some players are just average, and training hardly does much, while other players are superstars who will dominate all opponents when trained up properly.

Much of the best of the game is the sim aspect. Once you setup your players, you can choose what formation to run your players in and to have an offensive, defensive or normal stance, as well as tell them to move the ball normal, dribble or long passing. Depending on the skills of the players and their positioning, many of these decisions will decide the match. While in the match, all you do is watch and occasionally set a "man on fire" bonus to a guy who built up his meter.

The building and simulation aspects are cutesy, but they work for a mobile platform game. The game gives you just enough resources to manage, without being a complete menu hog. It gives you challenge without being cheap, and you still gain resourcesmoney when you lose a match. Building a superstar striker and watching him dominate a team skilled lower than him is rewarding.

The game gives you something fun to do now, while making you continuously "invest" in skills, training, high upside players, facilities, fans, that all pay off in small increments. There is also a free version to check out for a 1 year game time frame, so you can see how addicting it is before dropping the $5 on this wonderful android game.
