Sometimes too simple isn't good enough

User Rating: 5.3 | Pirates of the Caribbean: The Legend of Jack Sparrow PS2
I am a big fan of Pirates of the caribbean, but I regret to say that this game just didn't cut it. Shuffle some cards of quality here, blackjack is the game, games like Killzone get 20, the legend of jack sparrow gets a bust. The simple control layout doesn't appeal well enough to make this game fun.

Gameplay: 5/10

really, what killed this game was the control system, the battle system and the poor quality of action sequencing. For a game like this, the controls should be set up more widely spread. For example: Mortal Combat: Shaolin Monks. Some adventure games can get away with poor control layout, such as the GTA series (big fan, don't get me wrong) because they don't require it. This game needs more options for controlling the character. The targeting is a monstrosity, plain and simple. Slow action response was enough but now I have to deal with an enemy that has two attack methods and a slow reaction time? Sorry, that isn't enough. The actions in this game are appauling, throwing a switch to open doors and other such tasks becomes a serious chore after the first five times, mainl;y because it's all the same method of sequence.

Graphics: 4/10

Out-dated, grainy and boring. The playstation 1 could pull it off in it's late stages. enough said.

Worth a nickel or two. At least they got it right in-game. The cut scenes must have the blandest voice acting I have ever heard, and I've played South Park 64...

This game isn't HORRIBLE...but it's a long way from good. This is one of very few games that I played for a while and just turned it off out of bordem.
